This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in Java Edition 1.1, which assumes at least some familiarity with the Adventure Update (Java Edition 1.0.0).

Ladder		Removed collision box from ladders.
Fence gate		The collision box on fence gates now matches that of fences. Fence gates can now be opened and closed with redstone.
Oak leaves		Oak leaves now have a 1⁄200 chance of dropping apples.
Melons and pumpkins		Can now grow onto dirt instead of only farmland.

Spawn Egg		Creative mode inventory only.	Used to spawn a specified mob. There are 20 spawn eggs are available, one for each mob except the Ender Dragon, the Giant and the Snow Golem.

Apple		Are now legitimately obtainable without killing Notch.
Music Disc		Music discs can now drop from creepers killed by skeletons. The "Blocks", "Chirp", "Far", "Mall", "Mellohi", "Stal", "Strad", and "Ward" music discs are now legitimately obtainable. The "11" music disc remains unobtainable.
