This table shows all block IDs with their associated block metadata values in Java Edition 1.8 snapshot 14w21b, the last snapshot to have the vast majority of invalid metadata blocks in a stable state.

| Green | This block-metadata combination can be encountered in regular survival gameplay without exploiting glitches. |

| Blue | This block-metadata combination can be encountered in Creative mode without using commands or exploiting glitches. |
| Magenta | This block-metadata combination cannot be encountered normally and requires commands such as /setblock to see.

| Orange | This block-metadata combination cannot be encountered normally even with commands, and requires world editing to see. |
| Black | Interacting with this block-metadata combination in-game may result in a game crash. |
| White | This block-metadata combination does not exist in the current version of Minecraft. |
| Gray | The behavior of this block-metadata combination is currently unknown. |
