- Skeletons award 120 points.
- Creepers award 200 points. (It was once 250).
Points will not be scored for indirect killing (i.e. blowing up a creeper which kills a zombie doesn't give you the zombie's points).
Strategy
There are a couple of strategies that can be used exclusively in Survival mode, as the mode has its own special rules and block effectivenesses. One of the best methods is the use of an underwater home.
Flowers will not decay, even if they aren't placed on soil. At the same time, flowers block water, so it is possible to use them as doors for underwater houses. To construct this, swim 3-5 blocks below the surface, and dig a player-sized hole and plant two flowers in the hole to clear out the water and slowly expand it. This strategy works well for trapping enemy mobs as they will only float on the water unable to get the player below. Skeletons can shoot at the player, however.
