1.9 was a Classic server version released with 0.28 on October 27, 2009.[1]
The README file for this version labels it as "1.8.3", but the README for 1.9.1 changes this label to "1.9",[2] implying that this version was mistakenly labeled "1.8.3" while actually being 1.9.
