On March 31, 2016, Mojang released a hoax announcement for 1.RV, also known as the Trendy Update. 1.RV-pre1 was the first and only pre-release for 1.RV.

Blocks

USB Charger Block

• Acts exactly like a redstone block, emitting a redstone signal with strength 15.

Items

Reality Vision

• Shows a minimap in the bottom center of the screen (which moves when the player's camera moves).
  • Shows the chunks that are currently rendered.
  • Shows player location by a green beacon beam marker on the map.
• Will make a sound whenever you equip it.
• Displays vision overlay (similar to the pumpkin overlay).
  • The overlay is called cantseeshitcaptain.png in the assets folder.
• Activates shader when equipped (scan_pincushion).
• Signs display the text "OBEY" while glasses are equipped. This is a reference to the movie They Live.

Ankle Monitor

• Equipped via the "boots" armor slot.
• Will make a sound each time you get a notification.
• When equipped in Survival mode, you can't be able to take it off.
  • Can be taken off in Creative mode.
• Gives Slowness I effect .
• Displays the text "CURFEW WARNING! You are violating your house arrest! Get back by 100 meters!" when equipped at nighttime upon moving too far from the world spawn.
• When player travels to another dimension, it displays various messages from the moniter, in a special order.
  • For example: "CURFEW WARNING!" You are violating your house arrest! Uh... where are you, anyway?"

Smarter Watch

• Shows the time above the hotbar where item tooltips are shown in human readable format (18:00, and 22:00 for example)
• Will make a sound each time you get a notification.
• Push notifications in the chat whenever a statistic reaches 10, 20, 30 ... 100, 200, 300 ... etc.
  • For example: "Notice! [Distance Flown] is now 600!"
  • Another messages are shown when you take damage and sometimes even shows item specific information in chat when you craft items.

Changes

Mobs

• Mobs will now wear the new tech items in the additions section randomly.
  • When they wear the reality vision, they will not attack the player, even if the player attacks them.

Signs

• Signs have a unique texture in this version.
• Sign text is now green.
• Signs read "OBEY" while Reality Shades are equipped.

Trivia

• Sounds are saved in minecraft/sounds/buzzwords/sound_name.ogg where "sound_name" is replaced with the actual name of the sound, example "equipvr.ogg".
• The update was released before April 1st by the developers.
• The overlay for the Reality Vision is called cantseeshitcaptain.png in the assets folder, (which may be a reference to something?)
• The shader for the Reality Vision can be disabled by using F4.
  • However, when you go in Third Person View, the shader is activated again.
