Template:1.10 is an upcoming major update to Minecraft with no set release date. Snapshots are not expected to begin until the release of 1.9.3.[1]
Version number
The version number of this update is 1.10. It is currently listed on the bug tracker as "Future Version - 1.10+",[2] and this version has been referred to as 1.10 by Minecraft developers Erik Broes (Grum)[3], Nathan Adams (Dinnerbone)[4], Jens Bergensten (Jeb)[5] and Michael Stoyke (Searge).[6]
Planned additions
- A new button called 'Auto-jump'.[7]
- "Needs to be on by default so new players know about it", Jeb says.
- Ported from Minecraft Pocket Edition.
- A new block, portrayed in a teaser screenshot of it being in the Nether.[5][8].
- "don't step on it", Jeb warns
- Possibly seamless slabs and bark blocks "if we find a good recipe".[9]
- Two new building blocks from the Nether, crafted with Nether Warts. [10]
- Polar bears[11][12]
- Cubs are peaceful, adults are neutral unless cubs are nearby.[13]
- Portrayed in a teaser screenshot of an adult and a cub in a snowy biome.
- Skeleton-like mob with ragged clothing and white eyes.[14]
Planned changes
- Numerical block IDs
- Limit will get removed[15]
- The structure block will be usable in-game[18][19]
- Primarily for use by mapmakers.
- Has new textures
- Pitch algorithm in
/playsoundwill be changed to work correctly.[20] /summonwill now understand variations of entity IDs, such as "cat" and "donkey".[21]
- Abandoned mine shaft will now generate at surface level in Mesa biomes.[24]
- Ported from Pocket Edition.
