The Gold Nugget is an item dropped from Zombie Pigmen, and can be crafted into Gold ingots, making Gold a renewable ore - similar to charcoal, which can be made by smelting logs.

Trivia
- Since zombie pigmen carry golden swords with them, it is likely that the gold nuggets are pieces from the destroyed swords (since they disappear when you kill a zombie pigman).
