Goats are neutral mobs found in mountains.

Spawning

Groups of 2 to 3 goats spawn above opaque blocks on snowy slopes biomes at the surface at a light level of 7 or higher.

Behavior

Sometimes, a goat jumps up to 10 blocks high into the air. This usually happens if the goat is trying to cross an obstacle like a small hole in the ground or powder snow.

Goats take 20♥ × 10 less fall damage and also avoid walking into powder snow. While avoiding walking over powder snow, they also might jump over it, sometimes even in a narrow jumping area.

Unlike mobs such as sheep or cows, goats cannot swim, and in water over the goat's head, two blocks deep for adults and one for babies, they will sink and drown unless rescued.

Attacking

Every 10–15 seconds, if a goat has seen a mob (except for other goats) or player who has not moved since, it will ram from up to 16 blocks away. After choosing something to ram against, the goat performs a small charging animation, then runs quickly toward the target and hits them, dealing significant knockback. The ram can travel up to 9 blocks. If they knock the player off a mountain peak, this can result in the player suffering a large or even fatal fall.

If the goat misses and instead hits a block, it has a chance of dropping a goat horn. If both horns are dropped, then no more goat horns are dropped when the goat charges a block.

Goats do not attack back if attacked by a player or mob. When attacked, they exhibit the same panicky fleeing that passive mobs exhibit.

Breeding

Main article: Breeding

Goats follow players that are within 10 blocks who are holding wheat. If goats are fed wheat, they enter love mode and breed. Like other animals that can breed, the player is granted 1–7 experience when they are bred.

Drops

 • 1 goat horn when struck against a solid block, can be dropped two times per goat.
 • 1–2 raw mutton (cooked mutton if killed while on fire). The maximum amount is increased by 1 per level of Looting, for a maximum of 1–5 with Looting III.

Upon successful breeding, 1–7 is dropped.

Killing a baby goat yields no items nor experience.

Milking

A goat is milked by using a bucket on it, yielding a milk bucket.

Sounds

Note red
This page would benefit from the addition of more sounds.
Please remove this notice once you've added suitable sounds to the article.
The specific instructions are: Add goat sounds (screaming and regular) (put in the vanilla sounds, not dungeons sounds!)

Torchflower seeds are seeds that have a chance to be dropped by sniffers when they finish digging.

Obtaining
Sniffers will occasionally bury their nose in the ground and start digging. Once the sniffer has finished digging, one torchflower seed will have a chance to be dropped on the floor as an item.

Sniffers can only dig for torchflower seeds in the following blocks:
*Dirt
*Grass Block
*Podzol
*Coarse Dirt
*Rooted Dirt
*Moss Block
*Mud
*Muddy Mangrove Roots
They cannot dig for torchflower seeds on mycelium, which is intended.

Usage
Crop
Torchflower seeds can be placed on farmland, where they grow through three stages. Breaking the torchflower crop before it matures drops the seed, while breaking the final stage produces one torchflower and does not yield the seed.

Crops break if pushed by a piston or if their supporting farmland breaks or turns to dirt (i.e. by being trampled), dropping their usual drops.

Farmer villagers can plant torchflower seeds, but cannot harvest them after they have fully grown.

Feeding
Torchflower seeds can be used to breed sniffers and chickens and reduce the remaining growth duration of snifflets and chicks by 10%. Also, if some torchflower seeds were fed to an injured sniffer, it will heal it by 2 health points.

Taming
Torchflower seeds can be used to tame parrots.

Composting
Placing torchflower seeds into a composter has a 30% chance of raising the compost level by 1.

Carrot/warped fungus on a stick
If a carrot on a stick or a warped fungus on a stick is used to the point of zero durability, it becomes a fishing rod again.

Mob loot
java, the drowned mob has a 3.75% chance of spawning with a fishing rod equipped.
bedrock, naturally-spawned drowned has 0.85% chance to spawn with fishing rod, while converted drowned has 1% chance to spawn with it.
If killed, they have an 8.5% chance of dropping this fishing rod. That chance increases by 1% for each level of Looting applied to a weapon (up to 11.5% chance). The dropped item is damaged and never enchanted.

Usage
Fishing
Fishing

Fishing rods can be cast into water. After a short period of time, a stream of bubble particles approaches the fishing rod. If the rod is reeled in once the particles "bite" the bobber, the player obtains a fish, junk, or possibly a treasure item. If the fishing rod was in the player's hand and is no longer, the fishing bobber entity despawns, unless the fishing rod to the off-hand or it's been swapped with another fishing rod.

Crafting ingredient
Fishing Rod, Damaged Fishing Rod

Hooking mobs and other entities
Fishing#Fishing rod durability

The fishing rod can be used to hook mobs, itemsjava and some entities, and even players. The fishing rod can then be reeled in, dragging the hooked object toward the player without dealing damage. Reeling in a mob or entity costs 5 points of durability, and reeling in an item costs 3 points. Reeling a mob pulls it toward the player with a speed of 1 the distance between mob and player.

Besides mobs and items, entities that can be reeled in include:
* s
* s
* Minecart Minecarts of any type
* Armor Stands

Some entities can be hooked, but cannot be reeled in:
* Horse Mobs riding/being ridden by other mobs (in Bedrock Edition, the hooked mob dismounts)
* Paintings
* Item Frames
* knots

* Shulkers

Attempting to reel in said entities still costs durability to the rod.

The rest of the entities cannot be hooked at all:

* egg Thrown eggs
* snowball Thrown snowballs
* ender-pearl Thrown ender pearls

Using it on a villager lowers the player's popularity and causes any naturally-spawned iron golems nearby to attack.

Fuel
A fishing rod can be used as fuel in furnaces, smelting 1.5 items per fishing rod.

Other usage
The hook can also be used to activate wooden pressure plates or weighted pressure plates.

Enchantments
A fishing rod can receive the following enchantments:
+
Name
Max Level
Method
Lure

Mending
I
Anvil
Curse of Vanishing
I
Anvil
note

A fishing rod with the Mending enchantment has infinite durability if used for fishing only. The rod incrementally repairs itself using the experience gained each time a player reels in a fish, even if starting from nearly 0% durability. Players wearing damaged Mending armor have a lower average rate of repair, because the mending mechanic can ignore damage to the rod while repairing armor instead. Unbreaking III can nearly guarantee that the rod does not break, unless it's already at low durability.

Armor Stands
Horse armor cannot be placed or displayed on armor stands.

Protection
Horse armor can be equipped to horses either by manually placing it in its respective slot by pressing E while riding the horse (Horse Armor), or by right-clicking the horse with it.

There is a gradual increase in the defense given from a horse wearing the different types of armor. Note that golden horse armor provides more protection than iron horse armor, whereas the opposite is true for player armor.

When a horse dies while equipped with any horse armor, it drops its normal loot, saddle (if it had one), and the horse armor.

Leather horse armor protects horses from freezing in powder snow, but it does not negate other powder snow effects (e.g., falling through, inability to jump).

Durability
Unlike player armor, horse armor does not have durability. This means a single horse armor can be used infinitely unless destroyed.
Enchanting
Unlike player armor, horse armor cannot be enchanted in survival mode. However, java Creative mode, horse armor can be used with an anvil to enchant with Depth Strider, Thorns, Respiration, Feather Falling, and Curse of vanishing. Other enchantments can be applied, but they have no effect.

Dyeing
Leather horse armor can be dyed 12,326,391 different colors (using lone dyes or dye combinations) and put onto a horse to display that color. These changes can be reverted by using a filled cauldron with dyed leather horse armor.

Smelting usage
Piglins
Piglin are attracted to golden horse armor and run toward any golden horse armor on the ground, inspecting it for 6 to 8 seconds before putting it in their inventory.

Tropical fish is a food item that cannot be cooked.

Obtaining
Fishing
Tropical fish can be obtained from fishing. The wait time of one being caught is decreased with the Lure enchantment and the chance of one being caught is slightly decreased with the Luck of the Sea enchantment (named as such because it increases treasure, not fish).

Tropical fish cannot be caught when fishing in jungle biome and variants.bedrock
<!--1-6 exp-->

Mob drops
Guardians and elder guardians have a 2.5% chance of dropping a random fish upon death. This has a 2% chance of being tropical fish. The chance of getting the fish drop can be increased by 1% per level of Looting, but the type of fish is not affected.

Tropical fish always drop 1 tropical fish in its item form when killed. This drop is not affected by Looting.

Usage
Food
Tropical fish restores 1 hunger and 0.2 saturation.

Trading
Expert-level fisherman villagers have a 1 chance to buy a single tropical fish for one emerald.bedrock

Expert-level fisherman villagers always offer to buy 6 tropical fish for an emerald.java

Wolves
Bedrock, tropical fish can be used to feed wolves, healing them by . However, unlike other wolf food, tropical fish cannot be used to breed or speed up the growth of baby wolves. Tropical fish can be fed only to a wolf that is not at full health.
