This article is about the dust. For the block, see Glowstone (Block).

Glowstone Dust is obtained by mining glowstone blocks (only found in the Nether) with a pickaxe. Glowstone dust no longer requires a pickaxe to obtain.

Uses

When mined properly, each glowstone block yields 2 to 4 glowstone dust that can be reconstituted into a block. A glowstone block, like a jack-o-lantern, is a portable light source brighter than a torch. Glowstone dust can also be used to craft Potion of Instant Healing II and it may be required to craft lanterns in a future update. Unlike Redstone dust, Glowstone dust cannot be placed.

Can be used in potions to increase the strength of its effect. For example Potion of Strength + Glowstone Dust = Strength II 1:30
