Froglight

The features on this page are exclusive to Experimental Gameplay in Bedrock Edition.

These features may be properly added in a future update, but currently require enabling one or more settings in the "Wild Update" section of the Game Settings menu.

This article describes a feature planned for Java Edition.

It has not appeared in any development versions yet, but is planned to be included in Java Edition 1.19.

A froglight is a natural block that can be obtained if a frog eats a magma cube.

Obtaining

When killed by a frog, a magma cube drops a froglight. There are three variants of froglight that drop depending on what type of frog kills the magma cube: pearlescent (purple) from tropical frogs, verdant (green) from snowy frogs, and ochre (yellow) from swamp frogs.

It is currently the only farmable block that neither has a crafting recipe nor naturally generates in the world.^[verify]

Usage

Light

Froglights emit a light level of 15, the highest level in the game, similar to the Sea Lantern.

A possible way to farm froglight, using a grid of powder snow and a layer of vertical chains, to kill large and middle sized magma cubes, while allowing small ones to fall through and get eaten by frogs below.
