Too Many Blocks?[]
This image is kind of getting ridiculous with the high amount of blocks in it. Maybe all variations of blocks (wood type, smooth/chiseled, etc.) should be removed? Kinda want some input on this before I go ahead with it. Dotsarecool 16:03, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- I really like the picture with all the blocks in it. When I'm out of building ideas, I look at it for a while and usually something pops up ... Please keep it just like this. Thilo77 22:40, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Cobblestone[]
In minecraft, Cobblestone can be used to make stone. It also is a main resource of building pick axes, shovels, axes, etc. You can only get cobblestone with a pick ax. Any other tool will get you nothing. Also, like wood, you can make stairs.

Reverted to wrong version?[]
Dinoguy1000 did you possibly revert to the wrong version yourself? You've made a compressed version at 07:10, 21 April 2018, and you reverted to 05:10, 21 April 2018, which is before. And if I inspect the latest version now, I think it is of that lower quality that several people tried to revert earlier. I'm not sure how to check the quality of the image though, I wasn't sure I compressed it correctly when I did it myself. I just used an online compression tool for my 12:07, 9 October 2017 version, which still wins by filesize but lacks the latest content changes. – Jack McKalling [
] 08:39, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- The different times are a timezone issue. I uploaded the compressed version at 5:10 UTC, which is reflected in the revert summary. I'm guessing you have your timezone set to UTC+2 in your preferences? That would explain the difference you're seeing.
- All the online tools I've checked use lossy compression to achieve better compression ratios, which is fine for more photographic content, but results in visual artifacts in many cases in images with large areas of flat color (for this image, there is visible speckling in the stained glass/wool/etc. block if you view at full size). All that being said, now that I check more carefully, apparently the version I reverted to and then compressed was edited from your lossily compressed version, so there are visual artifacts in it as well (this also explains why 12Me21 reverted to the earlier version). 「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:02, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- All right, so my compression was also lossy. I couldn't tell, and honestly I have a hard time seeing it. But I understand now what's going on in the latest revision. I guess the latest lossless version is Piber20's, and lacks my cauldron fix and Dario sorn's end gateway stuff. – Jack McKalling [

- Oddly enough, I tried to run that version through PNGGauntlet twice, and didn't achieve any compression at all; apparently, that version was compressed with PNGGauntlet or similar software before being uploaded. I've reverted to it regardless, though. 「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 15:21, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. I redid all content changes that were made since then, would you like to compress this new (hopefully) lossless version? I don't have any tool myself. – Jack McKalling [

What I'd really like to see is the entire image regenerated from the separate block textures, but that's just me being ultra-OCD...「ディノ奴千?!」? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 16:37, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

add the 1.17 blocks[]

Yeah, cany anyone update the image to include all blocks as of 1.17? Windwend (talk) 06:39, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- I'm planning on updating the image again (possibly after the release of Caves and Cliffs Pt 2 as the current block inventory is feature incomplete from what we know is definitely planned) The main issue with updating the image now is that it has very little remaining free space and will have to be expanded enormously. It's already far larger than it was when initially placed in its current position in the article, and the label text is difficult to read on most devices. If it were made wider it would become less readable, and if it were made longer more of the article would be awkwardly compressed alongside it. One possibility would be to make the image only a column or two wide and place it within a scrollable window. This would make it less effective as an "overview" as not all of it would be immediately visible, but would improve readability and article formatting. I have found through testing that reducing column count would improve file size as well. I have no idea if the wiki markup is flexible enough for this idea but would be curious to hear any thoughts on it. Wilfred maplewood (talk) 22:31, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
