Grimstone is a stone variant that functions similar to cobblestone or blackstone, but it takes longer to mine. Much like blackstone, it can also be used to craft stone tools, furnaces, and brewing stands. Grimstone can also be used as a decorative block being able to be crafted into many different variants.

Natural generation

Grimstone makes up the majority of the solid blocks generated below y = 0 in the Overworld.

Usage

Grimstone can be used as a substitute for cobblestone in the deep, as it can be used to craft stone tools, brewing stands, and furnaces. It can also be used to repair stone tools using an anvil. It can also be used to craft polished grimstone and chiseled grimstone.

• Although it can be used to craft stone tools, brewing stands and furnaces, it cannot be used to craft dispensers, droppers, pistons or other blocks that use cobblestone in their recipes.
• Grimstone is similar to slate.
