Obtaining[edit]
In Java Edition, deepslate copper ore does not generate naturally and is only available from the Creative inventory.
Natural generation[edit]
Copper ore can generate anywhere in the Overworld in the form of mineral veins. In Java Edition, copper ore attempts to generate 6 times per chunk in veins of 0–16, from levels 0 to 192, being most common at level 96 and being less common towards either end of the range[more information needed]. Copper ore can replace stone, granite, diorite, andesite, tuff and deepslate, though the latter two do not generate at the same levels as copper. Even if copper ore does somehow replace deepslate, it will not become deepslate copper ore. In Bedrock Edition, copper ore that replaces deepslate in will become deepslate copper ore.
Breaking[edit]
Copper ore must be mined with a stone pickaxe or higher, or else it drops nothing.
Breaking copper ore will drop 1 raw copper, unless mined with a Silk Touch pickaxe. It is affected by Fortune enchantment, dropping up to 4 raw copper with Fortune III.

Usage[edit]
The primary usage of copper ore is to obtain copper ingots. Copper ingots can be crafted into copper blocks, which takes only 4 ingots, unlike most mineral blocks. Copper ore does not weather like its block counterpart, though the ore itself shows some oxidization.
