Versions before February 1, 2017
Mikael Hedber, or "Slicedlime" joined Mojang on February 1, 2017. So, this is the official date when he started to work in Mojang. Do we need to put update videos before this date, which is updates before the first snapshot for 2017? Skylord wars (talk) 03:19, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
- I think we can go ahead for every video he made. Hugman_76 [

Video below or above fixes
@Nixinova, Marioprotvi and Hugman 76: Before this edit war keeps going, I think it would be nice to start a discussion. Currently, it seems that we can't decide whether the video should go above or below the fixes section. Right now the category page says that it should go above the fixes. However, it seems that Marioprotvi disagrees with this, and quite frankly, I feel the same way. I think that all article content should go together, with the video at the bottom. To me it simply does not make sense to have the additions, changes, then suddenly a video, and then the fixes. Many of the slicedlime videos actually talk about the fixes - so it makes a lot more sense to have the additions, changes, fixes, and then a video summarizing all of that. Additions, changes, a video summarizing the additions, changes, and fixes, now the fixes in prose... it just doesn't seem right to me.-- Madminecrafter12

- I'm fine with that. I was just following the guidelines on the category page. – Nixinova
21:02, 19 May 2018 (UTC) - I think it should be above, because fixes are more like technical things that some players aren't interested in. Hugman_76 [
] 08:36, 20 May 2018 (UTC) - Support. All articles places their videos below. skylord_wars (talk) 08:37, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
I guess I'll go ahead and change that on the category page then, as this seems like the consensus.-- Madminecrafter12

- "add below the fixes but above the trivia and references section", the trivia section is above fixes section, a bit confusing there (and mostly impossible). Oh, and by the change we need to move the video for every snapshot article for 1.13 and all that kind of stuff. Hugman_76 [

- "the trivia section is above fixes section". For the first 3 version articles I found that has a trivia section, which were 1.4.5, 1.10, and 1.12, the fixes were above the trivia section, so it seems like this is the standard (it's possible that one version article may have it in a different order though). Also, I would be fine with moving all the videos myself - besides, I'm pretty sure for all the videos I added, I actually added them below the fixes.-- Madminecrafter12

- I've looked through all of the 1.13 snapshots now, and out of all of the ones that had a trivia section, which were 17w47a, 17w48a, 17w50a, 18w06a, 18w09a, only 17w47a's trivia section was above the fixes, which I fixed to be more consistent with other version articles. I also looked through all versions from 1.0.0 to 1.12.2 (not the snapshots, cause that would take forever), and all 11 articles that had both fixes and trivia sections - 1.1, 1.3.1, 1.4.5, 1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.2, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11.1, 1.12, and 1.12.2 - had the fixes section above the trivia section, without my intervention at all. Just out of curiosity, are there other snapshot/version articles you've found, Hugman76, that have the trivia above the fixes? Because to me it seems like the vast majority of articles seem to have the fixes above the trivia, and that layout makes the most sense to me. This should probably be mentioned in the versions style guide, though, as it would be helpful for editors to know this.-- Madminecrafter12

Anyone else have opinions on this? I know I already incorporated it into the instructions, but it might be nice to have some more opinions before mass-changing the position of the videos for the snapshots.-- Madminecrafter12

- Alright, I've mass-changed the 1.13 snapshot pages and the 1.12.x pages, as most of the rest of the version pages already had their video section below the fixes section. I have several reasons for this:
- A. Perhaps the most obvious, community support. Skylord wars, Marioprotvi, and I support this, and Nixinova seems to be perfectly fine with it as well.
- B. Consistency with the rest of the wiki. As Skylord wars pointed out, all other articles on the MCW put their videos below the actual main content. Fixes seem to be "actual main content" to me.
- C. I had put this as the proper instructions on the category page a week ago, and that was not reverted or disputed since then.
- D. The last comment here that opposed this idea was saying that the trivia section is above the fixes section. Although this was true for one snapshot article, all the other versions had the trivia below the fixes, which seems to make the most sense. After that, there was no reply from Hugman 76, nor from anybody else actually.
- After this, the consensus seemed clear. I apologize if some people do not like it this way - but I've explained my reasoning (hopefully clearly), and based on what I've seen, this seems to be what the community has decided as an overall. I really think that we needed this to be closed and decided at some point, and it's been a while since anybody besides me has commented. I hope everybody's okay with this. :)-- Madminecrafter12
