Capture the Flag is a multiplayer game mode that may later be added into the game .[1].

The objective of this game is for two or more teams to try and bring the item (the "flag") from the enemy base to their own and try to prevent the other team from doing the same. The idea of implementing this game mode has received positive reactions from the fans.

Unofficial implementation

The Capture the Flag mode can add three new items: a red flag, a blue flag and a flag stand. Capture the Flag is played on some multiplayer servers, except instead of using a flag, a hand destroyable block is used, such as dirt, sand, wood, wool, etc. It would still be playable even when this game mode is released, although the Capture the Flag game mode will be a more official and convenient way to play.

Some Minecraft servers, Classic and Regular, use a modification for Capture the Flag. Coded signs, block formations, or added blocks can also be used for Capture The Flag. Some use colored wool, such as red and blue, to play. Players can use these in conjunction with dirt or leaves.

Possible weapons include bows, a limited number of Ender Pearls, and swords.

History

Capture the Flag is a multiplayer game mode that was speculated to be implemented in the full version of Minecraft, but wasn't.[1] Notch also mentioned that it may be added later.[1]

As said in Minecon [2], Capture the Flag will first be available for Xbox 360, before the PC version (or Pocket Edition).
