Budding amethyst is a block found in amethyst geodes.

Obtaining

Breaking

Budding amethyst cannot be obtained when mined, even with Silk Touch. It will break immediately if pushed by a piston or sticky piston, and cannot be pulled by sticky pistons.

Natural generation

Budding amethyst generates naturally in amethyst geodes as part of the inner block of amethyst layer.

Usage

In a given time,[more information needed] budding amethyst creates amethyst clusters on any of its sides as long as this particular side is only covered in air or water.

May 21, 2009Notch mentioned crystal blocks as a potential block type which can be found in the underground.
October 3, 2020Amethyst-related blocks are shown at Minecraft Live 2020. It was mentioned that, like with spawners, blocks that generate amethysts would not be movable by survival means, forcing players to build farms on site for those resources.
