The block of amethyst is a compact block crafted from amethyst shards.

Obtaining

Breaking

A block of amethyst drops as an item if mined with an iron pickaxe. When mined using lower tier pickaxes or any other tool, it drops nothing.

Default 7.5

  1. Times are for unenchanted tools as wielded by players with no status effects, measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking § Speed.

Natural generation

Blocks of amethyst make up amethyst geodes, found randomly underground. The blocks of amethyst form as the inner wall of the geode, with calcite and tuff making up the next two outer layers.
