This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in the Boss Update (Bedrock Edition 0.16.x releases), which assumes at least some familiarity with the Friendly Update (Bedrock Edition 0.15.x releases).

Creature

Version exclusive is recognized as a Boss creature. Only 3 will be generated for each Ocean Monument. Will give nearby players the Mining Fatigue III effect.
Wither		Place 4 Soul Sand in a T shape and place 3 Wither Skeleton Skulls on top of it to create it (pictured below).	Nether Star (1)	New boss creature. Version exclusiveSpawns 3-4 Wither Skeletons when health drops to 50%. Does not spawn on Easy difficulty. Version exclusive has new animations when crafting and being killed. Version exclusive new sounds.

Ingredients Crafting recipe Prismarine Shard + Prismarine Crystals	Only tools enchanted with Precision Collection can obtain the tool itself, otherwise 2-3 Sea Crystal Sand will be dropped. Prismarine, Dark Prismarine and Prismarine Brick		Naturally generated in Ocean Monuments. Name Ingredients Crafting recipe Prismarine Prismarine Shard Prismarine Bricks Prismarine Shard Dark Prismarine Prismarine Shard + Black Dye Dark Prismarine Prismarine Shard + Ink Sac	All types of prismarine can be mined with any pickaxe. Will not drop if mined without a pickaxe.	Architecture or decoration.
Wet sponge		Naturally generated in Ocean Monuments. The sponge will become a wet sponge after absorbing water.	Can be mined with bare hands and will drop itself.	Can be dried using a furnace.

New Creatures Spawn Egg		Obtained from Creative Mode Inventory.	Used to generate the corresponding Mob.
Nether Star		Obtained by killing the wither.	Used to synthesize beacon.
Decay Potion and Splash Decay Potion		Generates in Cauldron in Swamp Hut.	Deals 1 damage every second, causing a total of 40 × 20 damage.
Arrow of Decay		Obtained from a cauldron containing a potion.	Deals 1 damage every second, causing a total of 5 damage.
