This is the list of features exclusive to Pocket Edition.
Splashes

There are many splashes exclusive to the Pocket Edition.
Graphics
- The graphics are more vibrant and smoother than in PC.
- Burning mobs emit large particles with fire's animation.
- Shadows on entities move depending on the position of the sun.
- At sunset, the clouds will turn pink.
- Water has smooth lighting.
- The water in swamp biomes is dark gray.
- Some mobs only have an attack animation.
- Zombie pigman
- Enderman
World generation
- Biomes that would exceed the 128-block height limit are shrunk to fit in.
- Old world type
- A finite, 256×256 world
- Generates with a barrier world border
- It generates modern structures.
- Superflat world type
- Has no villages and can only be created in creative
- Wooden roads generate over bodies of water, if any.
- The table tops are made of a brown carpet instead of a pressure plate as in other editions.
- Blacksmith chests can have ink sacs and emeralds.
- This makes village blacksmiths the easier alternative to emerald mining.
- Generates grass path blocks instead of gravel paths.

A bridge naturally generating over water in a village.
- A tree has a chance to have vines growing around the trunk, making a “dying tree".
- This includes trees grown from saplings.
- Fallen Trees are present.
- They are composed of a trunk lying on its side, sometimes with vines and mushrooms, and a stump one to two blocks away in the direction the rings are facing.
- You will occasionally find mushrooms on fallen trees.
Main article: Far Lands § Pocket Edition
- The infinite worlds generate Far Lands since X/Z: ±12,550,821, like prior to Beta 1.8 on PC.
- However, the PE Far Lands generate different structures and biomes.
- The Stripe Lands are mostly a graphical glitch, however this area has distorted physics:
- Players next to water are teleported into the Void.
- Starts to generate at X/Z: ±16,777,216 and continues until the game's limits.
- Can be up to 13 blocks tall.
- Will generate naturally in swamps.
- Abandoned mine shafts
- Will generate on the surface in mesa biomes.
- These use dark oak planks and fences rather than oak
Blocks & Items
- Can act as an X-Ray machine
- Projectiles can pass through it.
- Leaves a shadow
- Tagged as .name<
- Looks like a sheet of stone in inventory
- Jungle leaves
- Opaque regardless of graphics settings
- Available in creative mode, used for decoration only.
- Cocoa beans can be crafted with an orange dye and an ink sac.
- Can be fully grown with bone meal.
- Builds up in height gradually through snowfall.
- Are affected by gravity
- Data value 243, rather than 2.
- Take slightly faster to mine than in PC.
- In snowy biomes, such as cold taiga, they appear frost covered.
- Are available in Creative mode.
- Take slightly longer to mine than in PC.
- Can be crafted with polished granite, polished diorite or polished andesite.
- Data value 1 is the grassless dirt from 1.7.
- Is affected by smooth lighting.
- Water in swamps has a different color.
- Will generate at all Y levels in mesa biomes.
- Non-functional and uses the old texture.

Mobs

- Color around their faces and patches when sheared correspond to their wool color.
- Can use a Shear to remove the pumpkin head.
- When sheared it will reveal the face texture.
- Does not drop a pumpkin.
- Can be built using a jack 'o' lantern as a head.
- Will still show the regular pumpkin as the head.
- Spawns version exclusive baby squid. Produces a black cloud of "ink" when attacked.
- Puppies can spawn naturally.

- Appearance looks tattered.

- Run from the player.
- Can be killed in one shot using a bow.
