1.16.220 is an upcoming minor update to Bedrock Edition with an unknown release date, which will fix bugs.[1]
Development phases contain some of the Caves & Cliffs features through experimental gameplay, which will not be included in the full release for this update but will be part of 1.17.0.[2][3]

- Added the ability to change sign text color using dyes to match Java Edition.

- Performance and Stability
- Fixed several crashes that could occur during gameplay.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when trying to rename a map on anvil while having its second slot occupied (MCPE-112905).
- Improved input latency on Windows 10 when V-Sync is enabled (MCPE-98861).
- General
- Glow signs are no longer unlit on DX11 and Mobile platforms (MCPE-117524).
- Actor selectors no longer allow self selection with cheats disabled (MCPE-92635).
- Projectiles now pass through Structure Void blocks (MCPE-103579).
- Zombie, Zombie Villager, Husk, Pillager, Vindicator use correct bone to attach shields (MCPE-98606).
- Mobs that pick up Shield now place it to their off-hand.
- Visitors now drop inventory on death (MCPE-47563).
- Improved placement rules for placing blocks on sides of Stair, Slab and Top Snow block.
- Controllers are now able to select the "Button Mode" toggle in the Advanced Settings NPC screen in the Jurassic World pack (MCPE-66446).
- Fixed Drowned holding tridents backwards during attack (MCPE-118213).
- Enabled "Find Friends" button on Xbox.
- Selecting featured offer on Profile Screen will properly redirect user to complete list of featured offers
- Fixed non-guest split-screen players' lost data on Xbox (MCPE-55815)
- Made the sign-in buttons text fit the button in Portuguese-BR
- Use lighter color for text in Storage menu on Settings screen
- Fixed an issue where button textures were scaled wrong when applying resource packs
- Enabled navigating to the back button using only keyboard in some screens where it was not possible
- Fixed bug where switching between profile causes all other previewed profiles to be overridden by the initial one

- Fixed fog in Nether biomes not rendering properly in some resource packs (MCPE-111680)
- Glitchy lines are no longer visible on signs with text (MCPE-110321)
- Fixed barrier bug where non full blocks were flashing due to barrier not writing the depth (MCPE-116767)
- Non-persistent mobs no longer despawn immediately after loading into the Nether
- Drowned will now swing their arm when throwing tridents
- Fixed crash when entering a nether portal and throwing a bottle o' enchanting at the same time (MCPE-114793).
- Commands
- Command block in a command block chain will list the correct amount of ticking areas when a new ticking area is added before listing.
- Title command no longer duplicates % symbols in message (MCPE-51033).
- Using teleport with execute command now uses the dimension of the origin for its operations (MCPE-44104).
- Marketplace
- The "Results" field for search within the marketplace inventory now updates properly between different sections within the screen.
- Character Creator
- Steve pants no longer color the bottom of appearance's feet when no footwear is equipped
- Users in multiplayer games should no longer see other players using pieces on their appearance that they do not own as Steve
- Changing skins while in splitscreen should now properly save for all local users and update properly for remote users
- Alex shirt no longer looks corrupted when equipped with different pants
- "Hooray!" emote will now display in the emotes section if already owned (MCPE-111165).
- VR
- The death screen is now visible when behind full-screen effects (on fire, standing in a portal, etc) in VR
- Fixed translucent rendering of occluded UI elements, including when viewing menus near blocks
- Item aliases do not show up in autocomplete for duplicate items but commands can still succeed if the user runs the command with aliases.
- Accessibility
- Enabled screen narration with touch input on the new achievements screen.
- Fixed a bug where Text-to-speech read the wrong text while using VR.
- Fixed a bug where UI screen reader didn't read out default controller focus and checkbox state on the Online Play is not Rated pop-up.
- Villages
- Villagers are no longer able to go through walls to sleep in a bed if the bed is adjacent to them.
- Technical
- Updated behavior packs to require explicit module dependencies when using other native modules.
- Identifiers within
render_controllers
will now be considered content errors if there is no render controller matching that name. - Entity json before version 1.16.100 will no longer give a content error for the deprecated field
minecraft:foot_size
. - Modified condition in "animation_controllers.json" to allow mobs to enter "wield_third_person_raise" (MCPE-118213).
- Fixed an issue where loading into a world would cause continuous Molang errors around "unhandled request for unknown variable".
