Bats are passive mobs that spawn naturally in caverns or other large enclosed spaces. Bats are the only passive mob able to fly, and the only flying mob that spawns in the Overworld. They are also the only mob that has absolutely no impact on gameplay, since they aren't hostile, don't drop any items, and cannot be interacted with.
Appearance
Bats are visually the second smallest mob in the game, being only slightly larger than baby chicken. They are hard to see in the unlit environment in which they reside. They have dark brown skin, small wings and little feet.
Spawning
Bats will spawn in large caverns. They can also be spawned with their spawn egg. Bats may spawn in an unlit house if its interior is large enough.
On superflat worlds, Bats have been observed to spawn in even 1x1 spaces that are unlit, such as in mob traps, possibly because the code that spawns them cannot find any other place to spawn them. This indicates that Bats do not require a large cave to spawn, but large areas do have a much higher chance of causing them to spawn. Bats will not spawn on glass or slabs, but could spawn randomly in your world if the light level is low enough and the Bat doesn't have enough spawning space. Bats also will spawn on the Peaceful difficulty.
Behavior
Bats sleep during the day and become active at night. A bat will hang upside down when it is idle, but once the player approaches, the bat will fly away. Bats cannot hang on transparent or non-solid blocks. When placed in a minecart, bats can move the minecart around on their own.

Beetroot seeds are items that can be used to plant beetroot crops.
Beetroot crops are planted in farmland and used to grow beetroot and beetroot seeds.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Village farms have a chance of growing beetroot. The exact chance depends on the village:
Village style !! Chance
desert-village Desert || 20%
plains-village Plains || 5%
Breaking
Harvesting fully-grown beetroot yields from 1 to 4 seeds per crop harvested (2 seeds per crop harvested on average). The Fortune enchantment can be used to improve the drop rate.
Chest loot
beetroot-seeds
Trading
Beetroot seeds are sold by wandering traders for one emerald.
Usage
Farming
Beetroot seeds can be placed on farmland. After being placed, it goes through four stages of growth. When fully grown it can be broken to produce beetroot seeds and beetroots.
<!-- Java Edition only? -->While beetroot crops have only four growth stages compared to eight for wheat, carrots, and potatoes, each growth tick has a 1 chance of not advancing the growth stage and therefore beetroot grows slightly faster than other crops.
Crops grow faster if the farmland they are planted in is hydrated. One application of bonemeal has a 75% chance of advancing growth by one stage. This is less effective than for other crops: an average of 5 are needed to fully grow beetroot compared to 2 for other crops.
Breeding
Like other seeds, beetroot seeds can be used to breed chickens, lead chickens around, and make baby chickens grow up faster by 10% of the remaining time.
Taming
Like other seeds, beetroot seeds can be used to tame parrots.
Composting
Placing beetroot seeds into a composter has a 30% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
Trading
Wandering traders may offer to sell beetroot seeds for one emerald.

Obtaining
A powder snow bucket can be obtained by using an empty bucket on a powder snow block or powder snow cauldron.
Usage
Pressing use while holding a powder snow bucket places a powder snow block. Java, powder snow may also be placed inside empty cauldrons, creating powder snow cauldrons.
Dispensers can also create and place powder snow buckets. However, they cannot do so with cauldrons. You can also use it to cushion falls in the nether by placing it below you when falling.

Copper horns were found in pillager outpost chests.
Usage
Copper horns were used to play sounds. They took one second to use and had a four second cooldown. There were ten variations of copper horns, and each of them played three different sounds: when looking up, crouching, or neither of those. In total, there were thirty different sounds that could be played using copper horns. The sound a copper horn plays based on multiple conditions, which are in order as follows:
* If crouching, the bass tune was played.
* Else, if looking up (by 45 degrees), the harmony tune was played.
* Else, the melody tune was played.
Sounds
Sound names in the item tooltip are created using the harmony, melody, and bass sounds in that order.

Trivia
* Copper horns were removed from the game as they didn't live up to the developers' design goals, and as such are no longer supported.
* This is the first item in be to have been completely removed instead of just made unobtainable. This is likely due to the fact it never made it out of experimental gameplay.
** If a world that contained this item is loaded into a newer version, the horn will disappear upon loading.

A melon slice is a food item that can be eaten by the player.
Obtaining
Block loot
Melon slices can be obtained by breaking (harvesting) melons using any tool or by hand. Axes, followed by swords, are the fastest tools for harvesting melons. A melon drops 3–7 melon slices, when broken; by hand, using a tool, or after being broken by the movement of a piston, with an average of 4.64 slices per melon.
Breaking a melon with a tool enchanted with Fortune increases the potential number of drops by 1 slice per level, up to a maximum of 9 slices.
Usage
To eat a melon slice, press and hold use while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores 2 hunger and 1.2 hunger

Usage
Each type of medicine has an associated effect that it can cure (see for details). Players can drink the medicine only if they have the corresponding effect. Drinking the medicine eliminates the effect. Although medicine does not resemble potions, the player still gets the glass bottle back.
