The basalt deltas is a volcanic biome in the Nether. Ghasts, magma cubes, and striders spawn naturally there. Blackstone and basalt generates commonly while gravel, magma block, and netherrack generates commonly in the shore of the island or land in the biome, and white ash particles can be seen floating through the air while traveling the biome.
Description
A fortress seen from the basalt deltas.
Although arguably safer than the soul sand valley, this biome can be rather hazardous to the player; magma cubes are found frequently, there are large drops in the terrain and frequent patches of lava and magma blocks generate. The biome can form in a more cavelike manner— like the nether wastes, but more jagged. In lava lakes, the biome generates such that bits of blackstone and basalt are sticking up from the lava. The blackstone found in the biome can be a very useful resource, but it is useless without planks from a nearby crimson or warped forest. It's also contain gilded blackstone as a source of gold in the biome.
The basalt deltas is designed as the ruins of an erupted volcano. The fog takes a very dull lilac hue and there are particles scattered throughout the air meant to resemble volcanic ash. This biome is the easiest place to get basalt, and currently the only way to obtain blackstone in survival.
Fortresses can be found in the biome.
