Adventure Mode, formerly Dungeons and Levers, is an upcoming game mode.

Not much is known yet on what Adventure Mode will include. It is likely that Adventure Mode will increase the distinction between the Survival and Classic modes, making Survival more like the regular Minecraft, where the object is only to build and survive.

It is a possibility that Adventure Mode will include permadeath like Hardcore mode, making it rogue-like in nature.

The "Adventure Update" spanned updates 1.8-1.9 and was meant to be an update to "flesh out" the game. Adventure Mode should not be confused with the "Adventure Update". Minecraft Beta 1.8, the first quarter of the update, was released on September 14, 2011. This mode has not been released yet; as of 1.0.0 there are no signs of the "Adventure Mode".

Features

• It will have programmable maps, buttons, pressure plates and levers
• Blocks cannot be placed or destroyed
• Numerous randomly generated dungeons using a similar code from the current dungeon generator

• An adventure world selector,like the normal world selector,but with thumbnails and a desc. (and a new folder called "adventuresaves" for the storage of the adventure worlds.)
• The difficulty is locked on hard (but the difficulty chooser says "Difficulty: Adventure",like in hardcore,but instead of "Hardcore" there is "Adventure".)
• New inventory (No 2 x 2 crafting area,only 10 inventory slots,the hotbar has 1 new slot (1-0),a heart where the 2 x 2 crafting area is suppose to be,think about more stuff yourself,Notch!)
• In the map mode selector in the new world creator,add a mode called "Adventure",and creating it will put it in the adventure world selector (and add a button called "Adventure Maps" after the "Multiplayer" button in the main menu,so you can see your adventure worlds.)
