Beta 1.7.3 と Beta 1.8 の間、Mojang は多くのフィードバック、特にバグ報告を集めるために、社外に試験版のフルアップデートを公開し始めた。結果として、製品版のアップデートは以前と比べてかなり安定している。これらは公開されてはいるものの、ゲーム自体が自動でアップデートすることはなく、更新するかしないかは完全にユーザーの意志に委ねられている。

Beta 時代、これら試験バージョンには "Pre-Release" というタグが付けられ、製品版 1.0 用として公開予定の候補版は "RC#" として公表されていた。また、1.0 以降では独自の配列規則をもった名前が与えられている(下記参照)。

開発版をインストールするには、単に "Minecraft.zip" ファイルをダウンロードして "minecraft.jar" を .minecraft/bin/ フォルダーに置き、通常通り Minecraft を起動すればよい。 GNU/Linuxでは、Snapshot版を動作させるにはもうちょっといくつかの手順が必要である。

注意:このページはバグ報告の場ではない。そうしたものは 公式バグ追跡システム に投稿されるべきである。詳細についてはen:Issuesページを参照の事。

Snapshot版

Snapshot版の名称は YYwWWx という形式になっている[1]

YY には西暦の下2桁の10進数で、WW にはその年の第何週間目かが2桁の10進数で示されるx には週内に複数回の公開が行われる場合に備えて "a" から始まる識別子が付けられる。また、"w" という小文字は単純に「週」("week") の意味を表している。

Do you hear that? That kinda squishy, gooey sound? That’s the sound of a bug fix snapshot. We’re starting to wind down from new features and are preparing for a potential (pre-)release of The Redstone Update in a few weeks time. With that in mind, let’s introduce you to Snapshot 13w05a!

  • スコアボードシステムの改善
    • チーム機構の導入。名前への独自の色づけ、誤射オプション、プレイヤーごとではなくチームごとの目的追跡
    • 新しい表示タイプ - 名前タグの下に値を表示する
    • 新しい基準タイプ - 体力 (0~20の範囲で)
  • ビーコンの効果到達半径を拡大

      • 最上位の雪の層は衝突判定を持たないので、常にプレイヤーは雪に少し埋もれる
      • 見た目上、4層重ねた雪はハーフブロックと同じ高さになる。しかし5層の雪が、ハーフブロックと同じ衝突判定での高さになる
    • 製作レシピは3つの雪ブロックを横に並べる。1度の作製で6つの層が出来る
      • 薄い雪の層を作るたびに、プレイヤーは雪玉にしてちょうど半分の量を失う

According to our calendar from 2041, it’s Thursday in week 4 and flying cars still haven’t been invented yet. However, we did manage to bring back some cool Minecraft features in the form of a snapshot.

  • Renamed command block now use their name instead of @ in the chat
  • Redstone Comparatorジュークボックスとの組み合わせでも使えるようになった。
    • 音楽ディスクの番号が信号強度に対応する。
  • 骨粉の変更。。
    • 促成が不可能になった。代わりに1段階生長させるように変更。
    • 使用時に緑のパーティクルが発生。
    • 注意:Dinnerboneはこの新しい骨粉による生長システムのバランスを調整すると述べている[5]
  • 新しいコマンドscoreboard(スコアボード)
    • 作業は完了していない
    • スコアボードは、死亡、プレイヤーが他のプレイヤーを殺す、プレイヤーがMobを倒す、プレイヤーがコマンドを実行するなどの行為を追跡するのに用いることが出来る
    • 複雑なシステムは、名前、表示名その他の組み合わせを用い、プレイヤーの数字を追跡する
  • 金床スポーンエッグの名前を変更したり外部エディターで変更した、名前を与えられたMobを、半径6ブロック以内でそちらを向くと頭上にその名前が表示される。
  • 重ね置きしたハーフブロックの改良
    • 値 43:8 が「滑らかな石ハーフブロック」になり、以降も残されるようになった。
    • 全般:第4ビットがセットされていると、上面のテクスチャーが全面に適用されるようになった。これにより「滑らかな砂岩ハーフブロック」(43:9) のようなことも可能になった。
  • ディスペンサーの改良
    • 1ブロック離れた場所にいるプレイヤーに防具を「着せる」ことが可能になった。
    • TNTの起爆が可能になった。
    • 骨粉の散布 (使用) が可能になった。
    • 火打石と打ち金の使用が可能になった。
      • (使用に伴い) 耐久度が低下する。
  • ディスペンサーとDropperを6方向全てに向かせることが出来るようになった。
  • クリエイティブでは、Mobやプレイヤーを5ブロック離れたところから叩くことができるようになった。
  • Mobは積極的にはレールを跨ごうとしなくなる
  • [警告:非常にバグが多く、Minecraftをクラッシュさせてしまうかもしれない] 防具を持っているとき右クリックすることで装備できる (次のSnapshotで修正)
    • このSnapshot限定だが、この機能はとても不安定で、クラッシュしやすく、正しくないスロットの使用をしがちである。注意してほしい。

  • 注意:Dinnerboneが最初に13w03aをリリース後、すぐに幾つかのゲームプレイを妨げるバグを修正して再公開した。13w03aの完全な変更点は後述。
バグ修正:
  • Dropperブロックがアイテムを複製していたのを修正
  • 素手でブロックが壊せなかったのを修正。
  • ブロックやアイテムを壊したり獲得したりするとランダムにクラッシュしていたのを修正。

13w03a[7] 2013/1/17
  • コマンドブロックの改良
    • 隣にRedstone Comparatorがある場合、最後に実行したコマンドが正しく実行できたかどうかを、レッドストーン信号で出力する。
    • /testfor コマンドでプレイヤーのテストを行えるようになった。Comparatorで見つけたプレイヤー数を得られる。
  • ディテクターレールの改良
    • Comparatorにより、レール上のコンテナーの積載量に応じた信号が出力されるようになった。
  • Block of Quartzの改良
    • Pillar Quartz Blockを横置きに設置できるようになった。設置は原木のように行える。
  • Dropperブロックを追加。
    • 前にあるコンテナーにアイテムを移送する。前になにも無ければ、アイテムをドロップする (使用しない)。
    • ディスペンサーは「射出」するが、Dropperは「投げる」[8]
    • レシピは7ブロックの丸石を∩の形にし、hopperを中央に、redstone Dustを下に。
  • メニューの改良。
    • マルチプレイメニューに新しいチャット設定を追加:Focused Height, Unfocused Height, Width
    • テクスチャーパックのボタンをメインメニューから設定へと移動した。
      • テクスチャーパックの変更がゲーム中から可能になった。
  • Minecart with TNTの改良。
    • Activator Railで起爆した場合、レールとその支持ブロックを破壊しなくなった。
    • それでも、レッドストーン素材は吹き飛ばす。
  • 無限水源の生成で、下にブロックがある必要が無くなった。ただし下も水源である必要がある。
    • つまり川や海をバケツで台無しにすることが無くなった。
  • スケルトンが接近戦に強くなった。
    • 難易度で変化する。
    • 射撃間隔が近くでは短くなった。
    • 1ブロックの距離から攻撃してくるようになった。
  • ゾンビを射るのが難しくなった。
    • 難易度で変化する。
    • 目標毎に群れをなすようになった。
    • 燃えているとき、プレイヤーに火を移すようになった。
    • 遠くから射られると向かってくるようになった。
  • Minecart with Hopperを追加。
    • レシピはトロッコの上にHopper

13w02b[9] 2013/1/11
  • Trapped Chestは信号を1ブロック下のブロックに伝えるようになった。これは水平方向には適用されない (壁越しには信号は伝わらない)[10]
  • 信号を受けるとHopperがアイテムを吸い込むのを停止するようになった (13w02aと13w02bでの比較を参照 [11])
  • ラージチェストRedstone Comparatorを設置して信号を引き出すと、内容量に基づいた信号を正しく出力するようになった。以前は向かって左側からはアイテムスロット下半分の、右側からは上半分の容量に基づいて信号が出力されていた
  • Activator Railのレシピを変更 - 鉄インゴット6本、棒2本、とレッドストーントーチで作製される。Dinnerbone曰く前のものはバグとのこと[12]

  • MC-6745 - the tnt minecart is missing the ssss sound once triggered
  • MC-6746 - Minecart with TNT fails to return correct items when removed by player

13w02a[13] 2013/1/10
  • テクスチャーパックの改良
    • ブロック/アイテムごとにファイルを持つようになった。実行時に連結 ("stitch") される。テクスチャーの大きさは一致している必要は無い。
    • 任意のブロック/アイテムはアニメーション可能になった。テクスチャーファイルの下のほうにアニメーションでのコマを連結させ、正しい.pngファイルにすればよい。(同名の) .txtファイルで順番と間隔が指定可能。
    • 水 (water)、溶岩 (lava)、コンパス (compass)、時計 (clock) には特殊規則がある
    • 既存のテクスチャーパックも「automagically」変換される。
    • 個別のファイルで足りないものはデフォルトのテクスチャーパックから流用される。
    • 当ウィキのテクスチャーパックのページに詳細あり。
  • スケルトンの射撃能力の改良
    • 15ブロック先まで狙うようになった (以前は10ブロック)
    • 正確さが難易度により変化するようになった
  • コンテナーとスポーンエッグに対する名称変更の改良 (金床で)
    • 名称変更したスポーンエッグから生まれたMobにはそのエッグの名前が付き、倒すと死亡時のメッセージに表示される。
    • Mobに独自の名前をNBTタグで設定できるようになり、ゲーム中に表示できるようになった。
    • チェスト、Trapped Chest、ディスペンサー、かまど、醸造台、エンチャントテーブルの名前を変更すると、開いたときに通常の名前が表示される部分にそれが表示されるようになった。
  • 死亡時のメッセージの追加改良 - 死亡したプレイヤーが死亡直前に戦っていた相手や、致命傷を与えたアイテムの名前のように、死因が表示されるようになった。

      • 例:2スタックのアイテム/ブロックは信号強度 6 になる。ポーション2本も信号強度 6 になる (ポーションは複数個スタック出来ない為)。
  • 滑らかな石のハーフブロックを削除。
  • 廃坑のチェストがチェスト付きトロッコに変更された。
バグ修正:(Issue tracker):
  • Fixed minecart sound getting stuck on long cart rides and getting bumby, choppy
  • Fixed joining/updating servers taking very long
  • Fixed clicking quickly in succession in GUIs ignoring clicks
  • Fixed inactive detector rails giving redstone signals through solid blocks next to them
  • Fixed an item duplication bug with the hopper
  • Fixed cacti growing way too fast
  • Fixed byte reading code sometimes reading the wrong bytes

  • Hopperの上に⇧ Shift+クリックしてレールを設置できるようになった。これによりチェスト付きトロッコから搬出できるようになった
  • Redstone Comparatorを隣に設置することにより、すべてのコンテナーがレッドストーン信号を発するようになった。その強度は中身がどの程度は入っているかによる[15]
    • これはTrapped Chestでも機能する。つまり2つの異なる信号が同時に発せられることになる。
バグ修正
  • TNTの爆発が、ゲームを終了して再びワールドを開かない限り遅延していたのを修正
  • レール複製バグを修正
  • タイルエンティティのクラッシュバグを修正
  • レッドストーントーチが側面についているブロックを破壊してもトーチがドロップしなかったのを修正

  • レッドストーン回路はより一貫し、ピストンももっと安定するようになった
  • Redstone Comparatorを追加。

    • Gives out a signal depending on the amount of players looking inside. 1 person = 1 signal, 2 people = 2, etc.
    • チェストトリップワイヤーフックから作製。
    • 大きなTrapped Chestはラージチェストと互い違いに並べることで収納をよりコンパクトに作製できる。
    • 通常のチェストとは少し違ったテクスチャーになっている。ラッチ周りがちょっと違う。
  • Weighted Pressure Plateを追加。スタック量を検出する。
    • 金バージョンは60アイテムで信号強度が最大になる。
    • 鉄バージョンは600アイテムで信号強度が最大になる。
    • リニアに振舞う。信号強度10は、信号強度5のアイテム数の2倍になる。
  • Block of Redstone(レッドストーンブロック) を追加。ダイヤモンドブロックなどのようにレッドストーンが格納可能。押し出すことが出来るレッドストーントーチとして機能する。
  • Nether Quartz Oreをネザーに追加。

  • インベントリーの変更
    • Holding down the left and right mouse buttons and dragging when holding an item now splits the items across the boxes you dragged over. Left button splits them equally across the boxes and leaves the remainder in your hand. Right mouse button drops them one by one as you drag.
    • Double-clicking an item stacks as much of that item in your inventory as possible (up to a full stack) and picks it up without stacking any other loose stacks together.
    • Double-shift-clicking an item in a chest moves all of that item into your inventory neatly stacked into as few stacks as possible. The opposite is also true, moving all the items to the chest in as few stacks as possible.
  • Locked Chestブロックのテクスチャーを変更。

  • Blocks and items are sorted by category, each category in its own tab. The categories are:

  • Editable Books - Book and Quill, crafted using a Book, Feather, and Ink Sac.
    • When a Book and Quill is made, it can be right-clicked to open a screen that allows you to type the book.
    • Pressing "Done" will save whatever was typed and allow you to edit the book again later, yet will not "sign" it.
    • When "signing" a book, it will allow you to choose a title up to 16 characters long and disable editing of the book. The Book and Quill then becomes a Written Book, with the icon changing along with the label.
  • Wooden slabs for each of the four shades of wood added
    • These new slabs no longer act like stone
      • An axe should be used to break them
      • They are no longer immune to fire and lava
    • New block IDs 125 for double wooden slabs and 126 for single wooden slabs.
    • Wooden slabs created in older versions of Minecraft are still stone-like and fireproof and will not change to the new slabs when placed or mined.

  • Pick Block:
    • Several entities and blocks are currently unsupported by Pick Block and cause the player to crash if they attempt to Pick Block them. These includes Piston Heads, Ender Dragons, and other players.
    • Pressing the Pick Block button on Redstone Dust gives you a Redstone Wire block.
    • Pressing the Pick Block button on long grass gives you a Dead Bush placeable on dirt.
    • Pressing the Pick Block button on a sign gives you the sign block and will not have the stand part and will be placed instantaneously, without the sign GUI showing up.
  • Spawn Eggs now spawn baby mobs.[109]
  • Baby mobs spawned in the above way will follow any adult of their mob type.
  • Destroying floating sand may crash Minecraft.
  • Changing the GUI scale will cause the game to crash.
  • If item or block with the same ID but with different meta data are stacked on the floor, they will take the meta data of the first item/block you drop.
    This applies but is not limited to Spawn Eggs, wools, dyes, woods, planks, half-slabs, stairs, leaves, stone bricks, tall grass and sandstone.
    For example, if you drop a spruce plank, followed by 20 jungle planks, 20 birch planks and 23 pine planks, they can stack together into 64 spruce planks.

  • Snow particles are improperly rendered as rain in cold biomes; snow still generates, however, and the rain sound effect cannot be heard.
  • Walking mobs sometimes glitch and do circles in one spot until provoked.
  • Jungle Leaves seem to drop very few saplings (SSP, untested in SMP) (Bug?)
  • Lit Redstone Lamp block drops when mining a powered redstone lamp. Does not stack with normal unlit Redstone Lamp Block.

  • Cave Spiders sometimes do not swim.
  • Redstone sometimes stays powered after removing the Redstone Torch, when you make a Redstone circuitry with Pistons that keeps pushing Blocks around.

  • There were actually two versions of this snapshot, and the original version is no longer available. The second version would technically have been 12w05b, but since it was released so soon after the original 12w05a, jeb decided to simply replace 12w05a, and the version released the next day was named 12w05b. [123] The original 12w05a had a bug where the game would crash when right-clicking a sitting cat empty-handed, and it also had some griefing in the translation. It is for these reasons that the snapshot was updated so soon.
  • Lava sounds now function.
  • Many mob-related bug fixes (and some new behaviors).
  • Ocelots are easier to tame, and Cats can be told to sit.
  • Many small bug fixes and tweaks.
  • Villagers will try to detect village houses and live in them.

  • The left side of a Creeper's head does not have light effects applied to it. (Noticeable under light level 7.)
  • Zombies and Skeletons don't know the difference between water and lava when attempting to avoid sunlight. This is probably due to them only attempting to go to areas with low skylight levels, of which both water and lava have.
  • A fire charge that is shot from a dispenser into water will not go out, making fire be possible underwater.
  • Even when it's raining, zombies and skeletons will still occasionally attempt to avoid sunlight.

Considered the "Lost Update",[132] a full version under the name "Beta 1.9" never came. Instead, Mojang opted to delay the release of this update until MineCon 2011 and release it under the name "Minecraft 1.0.0". This decision was made after a few development versions tagged as Beta 1.9 were already sent out, so the name Beta 1.9 was kept for all of the development versions in the gap between Beta 1.8.1 and Minecraft 1.0.0, other than the Release Candidates.

  • Ender Crystal added, an entity which sits atop of a block of bedrock. It is diamond shaped, with 2 cubes spinning on their axis with a point at the center that fires a healing beam at the Enderdragon when within range, and can be destroyed with a melee or hit with an arrow, causing an explosion. They appear on all Obsidian Spikes in The End.

    • Scrolling the mouse wheel (which also scrolls the inventory) rotates the forward, left, right, and back directions
    • Pressing Y, H, U, O, I, K, J, L, N and M change the camera positioning in a variety of ways, While pressing two functionally connected keys at the same time (example: Y + H) will revert that view back to normal.
