La schermata del menù comprende il menù principale e gli altri menù mostrati su Minecraft quando viene messo in pausa. La schermata del menù è l'interfaccia che permette ai giocatori di cambiare le opzioni, quali lingua e texture pack attiva, nonché creare un nuovo mondo o accedere ad un server Multiplayer. All'apertura del menù di gioco, il logo del gioco appare con uno splash sulla propria destra. Puoi accedere al menù di gioco in qualsiasi momento mettendo il gioco in pausa, prenmendo il tasto Template:Key.
Normalmente, ci sono 6 bottoni nel menù principale: Singleplayer, Multiplayer, Texture Pack, Opzioni, Esci dal gioco e il bottone della Lingua. Sullo sfondo c'è un immagine costantemente in movimento, sfocata di Minecraft con delle funzioni distinguibili. Quell'immagine della mappa cambia frequentemente.

| Singleplayer | Choose a world to play, or make one. |

| Texture Packs | Opens a menu for you to select from a list of texture packs you have created or downloaded. |
| Language | Allows you to set the game language. |
| Options | The "Options" button opens up a window where the player can change keyboard bindings, mouse, audio, and video options, and multiplayer options. |
| Quit Game | This button closes the game. |
History
Originally the main menu displayed a repeating pattern of the dirt block texture (texture packs could however use a different texture). In Beta 1.8 (Adventure Update) Mojang completely reinvented the title screen adding an animated background, a version tag in the bottom left corner and new options in the option menu.
In 1.1 the language select button was added.
