[A!]I have been having problems with creepers spawning with in my sealed homes it isn't because of a lack of light. i have even put glowstone every where that these guys been spawning and i still have come face to face with them. i have been lucky the last few times this past hour that i been in creative mode . but on my main game i been playing i have it happen on there as well and im not lucky because i am playing survival and well a creeper in my well lighted sealed home going boom isn't the best thing.. hoping this be fixed soon cause i only come across this in the xbox minecraft and not the pc --Drake feb 1 2013

[!] I loaded up my game today and the guide appeared prompting me to pick my storage device. After selecting a storage device the guide would close but the background of the start menu remained darkened and even when loading up a world, the world would remain darkened in the same way that the background was, there was no HUD on the screen, and I was unable to look up, down, left, or right.

[!] On occasion, sleeping in a bed placed in the corner of a small room will spawn mobs such as zombies and skeletons. I am well aware that mobs aren't supposed to spawn within 15 blocks of (player) without special coding (Spawner, Silverfish block). This can be rather annoying and mess up game play if you just started a game and can't kill a mob that suprise attacks you. - Nate

[!] Recently, the only structure that will spawn in the overworld is a single well, whether it be on land or in a random ocean.

[!!] when ever I play while I'm connected to Xbox Live, the game works fine. However, when I disconnect the Xbox from the Internet (I can only play online rarely, due to limited Internet) the Xbox crashes, and I'm forced to reboot the console. When I try to play Minecraft again, it says I do not have the full game. I have bought it in the Arcade Store, and when I connect to live again, I suddenly have the full game. I've tried everything, and nothing is working, and I was wondering if any of you know how to fix this. Please help :( - Riley

  • The offline issue where you are notified that you do not have the full game sounds like a license issue. You may not have the license locally stored. Try updating your license. ---- KKA

[X] Eye of enders lag when thrown into the air

[X] When you place a piston in front of a block that has a redstone charge and destroy the block, the piston will stay active without a redstone charge

[A] when you are in an inventory interface and pressed the 'whats this' button on any sort of armor (boots,chestplate, etc) all grades(leather, gold, etc) it tells you the amount of armor points it gives as if it was diamond armor (e.g leather chestplate says it gives 4 armor points, but only gives 1.5)

Whenever I have a server open and a unwanted person joins I kick them and the game will freeze this is really annoying especially if you have done a lot and have not saved it so please fix this bug

[X] I made a redstone mechanism that uses repeaters to turn off torches. I wired everything and put a torch at the start to see if the system worked well. The torch gave energy to the system and the torches were turned off successfully. Then I removed the torch and the redstone dust still had energy.

[X] Began a new world in Title Update 7 and I can't find nether fortresses. I don't want to changes to creative. What can I do? --Jack

[!!] In my world, I was playing online on my own world and I went to the nether with an Efficiency II diamond pick, and as soon as I started to mine the netherack, the game kicked my friend and said that I had "lost connection" which was weird because it was my world in the first place, and therefore we lost a lot of progress.

[!] I am unable to play any more because whenever I mine blocks they reappear until I save and exit my game. It does this in all game modes online or offline as well.   • bug confirmed. same thing happened to me exept i dont keep getting the,

[A!] When playing in my 1.3 survival world, beds do not work correctly. I can still mine them, but most of the time, I cannot sleep, even if my crosshair is over the bed. This is extremely annoying during the night and has been confirmed in singleplayer, multiplayer splitscreen, and online multiplayer.

---I was having the same problem and I solved it by killing any mobs that are in a 5 to 10 block radius of my bed... Hope that helps---- kragory

---I had the same problem even though no mobs were present. I solved this by inviting the last person who played multiplayer with me in the game. After they joined the beds were usable again.--- MattyB

[A] While playing on a friends world(on creative) we were building a timing mech utilizing a felt block and sticky piston. The sticky piston would not hold onto the felt. [X] When my friend and I play for a while, creative mode, over the web, we have run into an issue with minecart, boats, and rail tracks. All of a sudden we cannot place boats, train-tracks, redstone, and minecarts. This issue is only fixed by quitting out and reloading. This has happened a few times. We lost a small amount of progress, as we were nervous about saving while this glitch was going on. At one point train-tracks started vanishing. A side note, we have a building that takes up 25% of the total map space, and have a lot going on inside of the building. Not sure if this effects anything.

This just happened again to my friend and I. Not sure if it has to do with too many boats/minecarts or if this has to do with too many blocks being used in the huge glass building.

[X] Whenever I open up a workbench on a split-screen world, it lags a bit before opening the interface up. I know the lag stops you from doing the duplication glitch, but there can be another way to solve it. -themaster401

[A] I was playing in a survival game, and I had a small 2x3 dock of stone for my boat. There was a current keeping it in place. I got in and all of a sudden I died. I had full iron armor with feather falling boots. When I respawned it said I died of fall damage. --CantelmiNutin56 [gamertag]

[X] Occasionally, while sprinting adjacent to a wall, you may get snagged on the wall and seemingly merge into it, at which point you'll start suffocating. {{bl |a} when I am in a bed or hitting a bed, it creates light. So, if you had a host that couldn't sleep, but you could so the night lasted for 10 secondes, if you had no torches you could just ask the host to hit some spare beds (if you had them).

[A] In split screen mode, if both of the people are on the crafting interface, neither can craft. We can have the required items and it doesn't let us craft at the same time. This bug or annoyance has been around since the first version of Minecraft Xbox 360 edition even still in 1.8.

  • confirmed bug, but when it happens to me, it acts as if the 2nd person using the crafting table (or the 2 by 2 crafting interface) has the 1st persons items. so lets say i want to make a stone sword, and my friend is on the crafting table. if he didnt have the required ingredients for the sword, then i couldn't make it. it fixes when one person gets out of the crafting table though. --Lolzzzzz 18:02, 29 January 2013 (UTC)lolzzzzz

  • [X] hello, for the xbox version "1.8.2 bug fix" please fix minecraft (random ?) invisible chest glitch, several of my many chests are invisible. Destroying, rebuilding, chests are visible OR leaving the game (exit) and then back in the game, the chests are visible. ho, it is frustrating not being able to see inside the chests when it is open, as when other players can watch us ; (i do not play online or multi-player). [A] If you trap any animal with no way out like a fence or a box after about 30 min they will despawn and this gets really annoying when you try to trap them for food. -ZachXMS

  • This is intended. Animals despawn before Beta 1.8.2, so you are obviously talking about a previous update.

[X] While I was paying on Minecraft 1.8.2 on a 1.8.2 generated world, I died from a creeper exploding. So when I ran back to my death point, the hole of the explosion was gone, and same with my stuff. But then few minutes later, I came back to the same spot, the hole was there, along with my stuff. This has happend a few times and this is really annoying.

[A] If you open a door with your hand, it pops open, no sound, no hand movement, no nothing. If you open it with something in your hand, however, it works fine.

I'm playing Survival, and every time i play it, it crashes.

[!!] [MP] Im running 1.8.2 of minecraft, I started a new world yesterday, built up a large home base, explored whole map. saved exited after 5hours of game play. Opened game the next day and Game crashes console after 30 seconds If I run the map in "offline" mode game operates properly. I have saved offline hopping it was a snagg in the save, reloaded online with same result. I have two maps(both fully explored) behaving the same way, they both have a large amount of sign's, they both have players in "limbo" with items in thier inventories. The One map "not fully explored", and contains no "limbo" players runs properly both on and offline. I put in bold the things these maps have in-common--IronCleric

  • I had the same problem and I've figured out what was wrong. You can't have more then 20 pistons or signs for some reason. I don't know if this is 10 pistons and signs or 20 of each. All I know is you can't have 20 of either in the 64 x 64 chunk. - Monkeymad358

  • That was the problem! I removed a total of 20 signs. And the issue is corrected! Monkeymad Thank you SO much!!!! Labels make me feel organized, but I can go with out. MOJANG I'll dance at you wedding if you fix this!
  • I'm thinking the crash has something to do with the wordfilter. I had a bunch of signs in front of me in one save game, and I could see the signs slowly going through the wordfilter (changing from "Awaiting approval" to the entered text) while it crashed. Is the wordfilter run in offline games? Probably not, because there's no "Awaiting approval" thing in there. --wwwwolf

[A!] I'm trying to make a world of redstone, and when I use a large amount of redstone it randomly works and randomly doesn't. For example, for the ceiling lighting I use, which uses the block switcher method, it worked in a room when I use only 4 and connect it to one button. But I used the same method in another room that is much bigger, there was a total of 24 block switchers, all connected up perfectly, same as the smaller room. But when I press the button some would work and some wouldn't, then I would press it again, and they would work. And so on and so on. It was completly random. [A!] I have started 6 different maps now after the update: 2 with seeds, 4 without. I don't have any animals spawning. I have seen a couple chickens, 2 sheep, and dogs, that's it.   • In the bugfix update for 1.8.2, they fixed the mob generation code so way more animals spawn, a little more animals than I think should spawn.
  • Yeah, too many animals spawn. They can quickly overrun your world.

  • I have also encountered this annoyance. I have started 4 different worlds, all without seeds, and the only animals we find (my husband and I are playing multiplayer) are chickens and wolves. We are selecting Survival Mode, Peaceful. The onset was a recent upgrade I downloaded several days ago. Even in my existing worlds, the cows, sheep, and pigs have disappeared -ablank12
  • Don't worry about it, lady. The new generation code makes them spawn in bulk.

[X] When you go onto a Superflat world on easy,normal or hard in creative mode, after a while of gameplay, maybe about half an hour, and you fly, most of the slimes will start disappearing. They are still there, as there are particles coming off the floor and they push you, but are invisible--ThatWolfGuy

[X] Since the 1.8.2 update areas near bedrock have a very low render distance. In a small room 10x15x6h, set on bedrock, and illuminated entirely by glowstone anything beyond 6 blocks from my character appears pitch black with particles similar to the nether floating in the air. Hostile mobs do not spawn in the apparent darkness and the area reveals itself in full brightness as soon it enters the 7 block bubble of my character. Also in a very large room, 150+x150+x6h perimeter with a 72x72x40h core, set on layer 12 a dense 'fog' appears to obstruct view beyond about 15 block making it impossible to see my clock from most locations or find my way around. From an outlook around layer 25 everything in the expanse is fully visible and illuminated but from the base the outlook and everything above it can not be seen. This is not the blue nothing of unloaded chunks but a haze the dulls distant blocks and structures to nothing. Same effect in both HD and standard res, playing alone or with others, online or off. --Jeikab Edit: We're at level 6 and it's very difficult to arrange a large living space or slime trap, since we can't see anything. I see that it's intended but perhaps it could change to be unintended or maybe only affect the actual bedrock or bedrock layer? - Captaincasualty

  • This is actually intended. It's called void fog, and it was implemented to make the Void look completely black, just in case someone managed to break through it. Catnom 23:39, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

[A!] I have the Xbox 360 Wireless Mic. and every time i turn it on while I'm on a server, I disconnect from Xbox live. This doesn't happen on any other game, just this one. It really effects me and my friends because I normally lead a server. -zZombie gunnaZz

Like, if you die and your items scatter, when you come back to recollect them, they aren't visible but if you touch them you can collect them. [A!] Occasionally while I am digging, the block I am digging reappears just after I finish digging it. I don't even get to collect the block. It has happened so much I have used up my pickax completely and I end up stuck in a deep cavern spending 45 minutes digging and filling back up to the top.   • This is happening to me right now. I just updated to the 1.8.2 Update and it also started with me in a cave. I stopped mining and left the cave. However this is now happening with most blocks I have approached. I started to mine for wood and the blocks would reappear but not drop anything. This also has affected my house as I was trying to remodel it. I hope this can get fixed soon. TheBlackSun 22:15, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

[A!] Randomly, no Matter where I'm at, I hear the sound of a bow and I get hit by arrows, usually two or three. This has happened when I'm in a building or when I'm on a multiplayer server. This has killed me before and it's annoying that I'm not safe anywhere.

[A!] If you sleep in a wooden room, if any wood touches outside, no matter how lit your house is, Monsters can spawn in your home. This annoys me so much and makes it where I can't sleep without getting killed.

  • This happens to me every time I join someone's game, usually it works for about 10 minutes or so, then you will start to lag for like 3 minutes, then all of a sudden you cant open a door, blocks reappear after broken, and huge parts of the world just disappear and you fall off an endless edge.

  • confirming, in some cases it is extremely repetitive and it is ruining my redstone world

[A!] Redstone is glitchy, torches don't work right, pistons lag, and it just messes up a lot and I have to exit without saving but it will do it again (it's worked many times before)sometimes I even have to rebuild it completely and it still doesn't work like it should.

[A] There seems to be a significant amount of lag associated with the minecart physics. Minecarts moved with a choppy, stop-and-go motion. I could be wrong, but it looks like this problem is causing the minecarts to not only move more slowly, but also lose speed more rapidly, thus requiring more powered rails to keep them moving at a constant speed and for longer distances. Additionally, the lag causes a delay when I try to push a minecart manually. Instead of staying in front of me as I walk towards it, the minecart doesn't move until about a half second after I've already passed through it. Continuing to walk forward at full speed resulted in the minecart following just behind me instead of catching up and moving ahead of me unless I stop. --BlakLite1

[A] There seems to have been a biome shift in pre 1.8.2 worlds since the update resulting in a large portion of my map which had previously been desert, ocean and woods becoming frozen over complete with cacti surrounded in snow and ice and a pneumatic dock frozen solid. --Jeikab

[A] if you use Pressure plates to activate a redstone circuit to open 2 doors the pressure plate might get stuck and keeps the doors open

  • I too have had this. It's not always with doors, pressure plates for pistons have got stuck before for me. I have to destroy and replace it. -- luc122c

[A] Manually saving after death without picking up dropped items from said death will delete those items from the world.

  • How do you mean? Like, if it's on the line between two blocks of grass? I'm trying to replicate but getting nothing here. Were you doing it online? It may just be a phantom drop issue due to a glitch in the server; happens in the PC version too. -- 22:10, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
  • The line between 2 blocks is that invisible line between blocks on the invisible grid for all blocks. It happened to me for like up in a tree cutting down wood and leaves and the wood just sit there on that line next to a block, but i was able to pick it up by mining the block next to it.

[A] When using buttons to open Double-Doors (One for each door) one of the doors remains permanently open. Pressing one of the buttons closes its door and it re-opens, and the other button opens its door for a second and then closes (which should happen).

  • This was a bug in the PC version, on PC it is fixed
  • This wasn't a bug it was because Notch tricked the doors to be shown as a double door needing for the on input for one and reverse for the other Darkmtbg2 18:28, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
  • had this too. can be fixed by using a lever and a NOT gate for the door that is permanantly open.

[A] Occasionally when placing a painting on wood, glass, and Stone, when you remove the painting, It shoots off the surface about 10 blocks away. [A] not being able to place lava wherever I want is a major annoyance to me. I have no idea where the level spawn point is since I haven't needed it. Nor can I change it since I can't go into the DAT file in Xbox (I'm sure there's a very technical way but I'm not that good!). I have caused myself to respawn 14 times since and not once has it been in my intended flow of lava.

[A] Whenever I go to bed, no matter how well lit up the area around me is, no matter how high up I am! I will always without fail be attacked by a mob (Usually zombies or skeletons) while sleeping and end up having to wait for morning to come naturally.

  • The same thing happened to me however I was in splitscreen. I could prevent mobs from spawning by putting some redstone dust around the bed but that's crude and prevents the player from spawning as well.-Anonymous
  • This has happened to me in single player and multiplayer mode. All doors closed or no doors (hole in the ground) and well lit. - Fier

[A] [MP] If owner of dogs is attacked by another player then the owner makes the dogs sit, the dogs will hop around to attack the original attacker.

  • This really isn't a bug at all. Its a mix of the wolves AI and a graphical glitch do to a small amount of lag between the wolf acting and the system showing the wolf standing and attacking. This makes it so it looks like your wolf is sitting and bouncing around when really its running around. The only way to get a wolf to stop attacking/killing other players if you or your wolves is attacked it to kill your wolves. PLZ MAKE SURE YOU SIGN YOUR POST!!!! --Ichi 14:19, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

[A] Sometimes when jumping back and forth from my game to a buddies a lot. When i come back to my game ALL of my redstone stuff just will not work (this is fixed by turning off my Xbox and turning it back on after about an hour). And by will not work i mean; redstone torches will not turn on/off as they should; redstone repeaters will bug out in the same manner; redstone wires/lines bug out in the same manner. I am listing this as an annoyance for now as I don't know of anyone else that has this problem. But then again my buds don't do as much redstone stuff as me. --Ichi 15:55, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

[A] Usually happens every time, but when two beds are put directly on the same wall in a house (usually 1 block apart) the second person to sleep seems to fall through the bed and lay on the floor (Could be the 2 player as Its only happened to my friend on split-screen and he was always second to sleep) or roll off the bed and lay on the floor next to it. When my friend decided to make a new bed and went to destroy his first bed, it split into two different pieces. The top piece was destroyed but the other half was not. And when he destroyed the other half it dropped a regular bed but when that bed that was dropped was placed it was just the lower half. This also caused any bed we made and tried putting on the floor turn into the lower half bed. Reloaded map (Didn't save after glitch) and glitch was fixed. It would probably be good to note, that VERY soon after the bed glitch was taking place the door was also split into two (as mentioned in the annoyance section) but would not go away. When shut, then sleep, it would open in the night and I would be attacked by mobs. Anonymous

[A] Every time I save my game or auto-save or load a save, all actions slow down, from walking to swinging any tools and has killed me on a few occasions because creepers caught up to me an exploded. it wears off if you wait a while or stop then walk (sometimes more than once) Another thing that has happened to me more than once is I will load a save and if there are mobs pursuing me their speed will oddly INCREASE immensely. for instance, i loaded a save that had a creeper and skeleton pursuing me. even though they were about 10 blocks or so away from me the creeper suddenly bolted up to me while i was walking too slow to avoid him while the skeleton was shooting a barrage of arrows into my back. ~~Lawrence_Denword

  • Arrows caught on fire are not intended to set blocks on fire. Flaming arrows were only coded to set TNT in the latest 1.4.1 update on PC and Xbox runs on 1.8.2. Also Arrows don't affect buttons or levers. - Anonymous

  • Try placing a torch on the glitched blocks. It should cause the block to disappear permanently. You can then mine your torch and get the torch back. Note, that you will likely end up with a reappearing torch until the game is saved and reloaded or you move sufficiently far away. --Ravanux

[!] I'm trying to build some awesome redstone logic circuits using lots of NAND gates, but the torches are not behaving as they should e.g.: simetimes they do not go out when being powered.   • This is usually caused by latency issues between players, check your connection and try again. If there are no problems with your connection, it could be that the host of the multiplayer session is having latency issues. This would only explain why it would be happening in multiplayer, latency shouldn't be a factor in single player in which case it could be a bug in that respect.

    • This exact bug is happening to me on some of my maps. In single player & multiplayer (not a latency issue) the blocks will respawn on the Xbox version of Minecraft. [?] Leaves often go unrendered for some people, causing trees to seem leafless, and people to walk into and bounce out of areas without a clue why. So far I've only encountered it while playing on others' worlds. Both the host and client players have been susceptible to the issue. Have had instance of both host and I being unable to see the leaves while another client could.

[X] Minecarts seem to have poor collision detection causing minecarts with furnaces to phase through other carts instead of pushing them, I cant narrow down exactly what is causing this but when my furnace cart tries to push another cart up a ramp it stops moving for a bit while the two carts seem to try and occupy the same square before the furnace cart goes through the regular cart and continues on up the ramp

[X] Wooden doors may split in half, with the top half closed and the bottom open (or vice versa). Trying to open/close one half of the door will reconnect the halves of the door for a few seconds, then it will split again. This usually only happens after playing in the world for a long time (over an hour).   • This happened to me when I put a pressure plate on a piece of wool next to a block with an iron door on it. It caused the door to look open but not allow me to pass through. Then it was half open and half closed. My friend and I kept trying to figure out what was wrong and when I changes the wool block with a wood block with a pressure plate on top, the door worked.--Anonymous 20:09, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
  • This has happened to me once with an iron door. The top half closed while the bottom remained open. Again, the issue was resolved by reopening and closing the door.

  • I think there is still a bug or a problem (hard to show without images ; i have no faceb**k, and no live ; and nothing now to take a picture properly) because i can not place two doors side by side separated by a wall of dirt + sandstone or i want this 2 doors : two gates (a door by staircase) to block two symmetrical staircases (a block of width) in a tower. In fact, this is the coordinates that are problematic (?), because in my case, the two doors (iron) are separated by a block (a wall of dirt + blocks of sandstone = stairs symmetric in a tower) but not in the same place that causes the problem. The two doors opens as expected when activating their respective 2x2 buttons (rather than one door closes when we presses the button and stays open by default), if the two doors in front are of course "separated by a wall" but has a place that does not causes a problem (good place found by trying). Improving the gaming experience ; construction symmetric and or accurate : should be able to use a data bit to choose what we wants by default : door open or closed. Also should be able to choose the direction of opening of door and on which side you want the hinges ; would be very good and effective for the coffers also (including coffer (1 or more) on a pedestal in the middle of a hall for example ; without walls so). I mine the gravel and replace with stone but after save/exit then reload it reappears and I repeat removal and replacement. It happens every time. The pattern of the gravel is different each time, but it is always around the same area. --

[X] When you try to sleep in the bed you last slept in, you aren't given the option to sleep (very uncommon, and only seems to happen in the middle of the night, after mining a lot of blocks, like trees, or remodeling the interior of your house). Perhaps that won't be too big of a deal, but breaking the bed won't help, and not every house has multiple beds or a nearby fort, so I'm labeling this a minor bug instead of an annoyance since you might die and lose your stuff trying to reach another house (most people I bet would rather not sit there for 5/6 minutes, and I can't blame them).   • This is strange in the PC version it doesn't let you open your inventory.

  • Happened to me when i got the necessary items after opening the crafting menu (crafting a stone sword, I had one cobblestone so another player gave me some. All the necessary items were no longer highlighted red, but the output sword was.
  • If you turn off/unplug your controller, then turn on/replug your controller it will solve this problem.
  • It doesn't solve the problem. After the inventory bug happened once, the inventory stays frozen each time and is practically useless. Unplugging/Replugging the controller just closes the inventory.
  • I had this problem as well, to fix it i played the tutorial and after completing the inventory tutorial in the tutorial world i saved and exited and went back to my other world the game read that i completed the inventory tutorial and no prompt was given. When i didn't save the tutorial world it didn't work.

[!] When I try to craft in my Crafting Table,it will either say that have the right materials to craft it but the item will not craft (it has an exclamation mark over the finished product but not the materials needed), or it will say that i do NOT have the correct materials even though I have the materials in my inventory/hand. This is REALLY annoying. To fix it you must back out of the Crafting Table several times (sometimes one time) and keep trying to craft the item.   • I encounter this same bug frequently. Sometimes it's the item I'm trying to craft, and sometimes it's an ingredient or two, and sometimes it's both. [X] Sometimes the game it won't let me craft certain items, even if I have the materials.

  • I've had the same issue several times. Sometimes it shows the ingredients with an exclamation mark, sometimes no mark, but still won't craft it. In most cases I was able to close and reopen the crafting dialog, switch tabs and switch back, or move the item from the quick bar into inventory to get it working again.
  • I've seen this happen when split screen play is enabled, sometimes the server seems to mix up the players inventories.
  • This can be duplicated by having two players in splitscreen mode both open the same crafting table with one of them having the needed ingredients and the other not. Easily worked around by having the second player exit the crafting table.

  • I've had this issue when the required materials are in two stacks, one in inventory and other in quickstrip. Crafting will be successful until quickstrip stack is exhausted. Crafting will then show materials not available, even though there is another stack of materials in inventory. Closing / re-opening crafting window fixes. --ArcaniX5696

  • I have had this problem in split-screen, my house was completely secure, iron door and made of stone, but I kept being attacked in my sleep. My ceiling was as low as it could be, but when I dug the floor out one block, the problem stopped.
  • This seems to happen when the room is enclosed with double doors, or a pair of doors connecting at the door knobs. Try replacing the double doors with a single door, make sure the room is fully enclosed, and it is well lit and the problem should stop.
  • I find the placement of the bed to be irrelevant as I have numerous houses in which the bed is directly adjacent to a wall. The solution I found was lighting all sides of the house up, including the inside, outside, roof and if there are any, close proximity mines or caverns. [X] Occasionally, hostile mobs will not take fall damage. I have a disk maker setup that uses fall damage to bring the creepers to a one shot kill. The mobs fall 20 blocks onto a fence post. The fence post has a water stream over it (2 blocks from the source) and usually fall damage is taken. However, when its not I tend to have large portions of glass tubing destroyed when the odd healthy creeper takes an arrow and blows up the offending skeleton. [X] I have had several instances in which mobs could not be damaged. Have had instances of being unable to kill a squid underwater (attacking with sword), a skeleton (attacking with fists), and a zombie (also with fists).

  • I constantly have this problem. When I attack the top of the head and the feet the mob turns red but takes no damage. Mostly this happens with Zombies.
  • I also had this problem when attacking a skeleton, I attacked its head and it turned red but took no damage.
  • I had this problem with a creeper. It wore out my sword after repeatedly hitting the top of its head and it took no knock-back. It also turned red. Eventually I had to kill it with my axe.
  • This seems to occur when attacking a mob through a 1 block high space. You can still hit it with a bow. This seems to be related to the mobs on servers being impossible to hit bug on the PC.
  • Able to duplicate this, especially when attacking mobs that you can barely see (i.e. attack a zombie's outstretched arm over the corner of a gravel stack) and happens quite often when attacking spiders over a fence

  • Maybe I was wrong; it might not be a bug, but simply a way to make creepers more dangerous foes. While I do not understand why they would want to do so (creepers were deadly and sneaky enough to keep the game balanced), I do not consider it a bug anymore since I've seen the following loading screen tip (or something like this): "On hard difficulty, creepers will hardly ever cancel their detonation." This does not apply to the PC version, in which the difficulty setting only affects the amount of damage inflicted by a creeper blast, and not the radius nor the triggering distance, nor the behavior of the creeper when you flee after it has been triggered. [X] I have an egg farm and I can only produce 44 chickens inside (via egg). I can get 44 chickens only if I kill off all of the other chickens in the world. Killing other passive mobs doe not seem to increase this number. I know that in the PC version, you can have unlimited mobs, so I think that this is a bug.

[X] I have invisible chickens. I have six chickens spawned from eggs in a 4x4 stone enclosure accessed from a ladder from above. After I restart the game 2 or 3 times the chichen disappears, but eggs continue to spawn. I made the mistake of opening the room and the chickens trampled my wheat.

  • I have encountered this glitch too and unfortunately this is after the 1.7.3 update so it means that it has not yet been fixed. It is happening in a world which I use for co-op and we have around 14 tamed dogs. I think that if 4J choose to expand the size of the worlds to be made as big as the ones in the PC version then this problem might be fixed. [A!] In my world, my friend discovered after returning to my world after a month or two, his dogs are, for lack of better word choice, "unresponsive", to him. What I mean by that, is he can not make his dogs sit, or follow, as if they belonged to somebody else. Supporting this, I moved my dogs out of his house. The ones that were left were all his, but they still remained unresponsive. He tried hitting one of the dogs that were left, and it attacked him, even though it was not mine. After the new minecraft update for xbox (the one that just included creative mode and npc villages) I went and I found and npc village I went in the village and there were no villagers ( a.k.a squidwards) any way I went on ten other maps and there were still no villagers in the villages so in the next update I hope they have that bug fixed so thank you for reading.-samuel

  • I have to agree, arrows seem to bounce off mobs. It's more reasonable with Ghasts, Magma Cubes and Slimes, as they have special hit boxes, but oddly arrows also bounce off everything else, then teleport someplace else where it should have landed like the mob never existed.

[!!] I have a TU6 world that I loaded in TU7 and it shows a blank map (the map you hold in hand), the world will not load any new chunks, the map will not update nor will the player appear properly on the map. The game will then either freeze OR back out to the main menu with an error. Note: The world is covered 1/4 with a layer of ice and this took HOURS to do (Filling map with water)! -Radical924

[!] If the tutorial is recently completed and you die outside of the tutorial area when you respawn sometimes you get stuck and unable to move because the game says you cant leave until tutorial finished.

[!] On split screen, you can hear the music but cant hear any sound apart from random, rare moments when you can hear normal sound for less than a second. Really annoying especially at night when zombie might be behind you.

[!] [MP] After respawning from death, the newly respawned player is unable to see any entities that were present before their demise. This often causes losses of the player's drops (as he is unable to see them, but he can still pick them up), and sudden deaths from invisible hostile mobs that were present at the scene of the player's death. Not only this, but tamed wolves and paintings will turn invisible (despite the fact the game still thinks they're still there) and will not reappear until you travel to an unloaded chunk and back. If you save and exit, all of the entitles will permanently despawn. This glitch is extremely annoying and has ended in the loss of a crapload of tamed wolves, paintings, and items.   • Something like this happened to me once: when I died and went back there, all the dropped items were invisible, but I could still pick them up. In the area around the place where I died (I'm guessing that chunk), all items dropped became invisible, including the ones I dropped after going back. Mobs were also invisible, and I was killed once more by the same spider (and indeed, it was invisible.

  • Returning to the Xbox dashboard and reopening Minecraft fixes this issue (confirmed)

[A] Since the new update when using the item/inventory menu the player is no longer able to pick up an item with the cursor and hover over another item and quick move it with (Y). I often find myself with a full inventory and I have to move things manually with the left stick from my hot bar/quick bar to my inventory and back. [A] I have also found a few bugs with Title Update 8. The game saves when the last auto-save was before you leave the game and when you reload the game it counts down from how long ago your last auto-save was. For instance I save and exited right before an auto-save and when I loaded my map up again the next day it Auto-saved within minutes! Another bug is if you are in single player and pause the game with auto-save on when you un-pause the game and an auto-save was supposed to happen it saves. Instead what should happen is every time you are in single player and pause the game the auto-save counter should pause. If you leave a game the auto-save counter should reset (The resetting of the auto-save counter should always happen if you leave the game)!

Also instead of a 5 second warning why not have a toggle-able auto save countdown clock in the top left or top right corner of the screen that appears within 5 minutes of the next save? This would countdown the last 5 minutes until the next auto-save. When 10 seconds are left it should countdown from 10...9...8...etc when at 5 it should pop up with the auto-saving in 5...4...3...2...1...0 like it does now! - Radical924

[!!] Portals were working fine- until we attempted to set up a portal travel system, and 2 new players joined. On a return trip to test it out, the game froze up, forcing us to reset our Xbox. Every attempt after reloading the world caused crashes, trapping us in the nether.

[!!] when entering nether portal game freezes, this has happened several times. I have never been successful in getting through a nether portal without having to reboot my Xbox.

  • Same. Since my first attempt I have never been able to get back to the Nether. Every attempt leaves the game frozen - sometimes with music, sometimes without. Pressing the dashboard button on my controller produces the sound of the Xbox menu opening, but nothing on screen. Have to disconnect xbox at the wall or rapidly press power button until console resets. Attempted several times. [UPDATE] Attempted in MP over Live and was able to go into the Nether several times and even create new portal in the Nether. Cannot go through the portal in single player or local multiplayer.
  • Same freezes every time i go into the portal to the point that its even hard to reset the Xbox. Have found i can use the portal if another player is in my world though.
  • This also happened to me. I had saved in the Nether and left the game for a few days. (I know! Crazy right?) When I got to playing again, my game crashed when attempting to leave the Nether similar to others. When someone else went on my world, he could enter and exit through the very same portal just fine. When on the other side of the portal (in the surface world), he said he could see me for a second before his connection was lost on my world. (I was the host respectively, and I crashed respectively). It was only when I gave him everything in my inventory and killed myself that I could return to the surface world with all of my things intact. As you can see, this may have been caused by multiple things, I just don't know which. Could someone please tell me if their game crashed under any of the previously explained circumstances?
  • This is still happening to me as well, as of July 09 2012. Can't enter the nether, without freezing and hard restarting.
  • This happened to me also. I do not have any friends that play Minecraft on the 360 but I was able to get out by reloading the game, hooking up a second controller and signing in as a guest. So basically the same as has been suggested above, but just with a second controller.
  • This is happening to me as well. I was in the nether when suddenly the game autosaved. I tried to travel through the portal and my game kept on crashing and freezing. I cannot get through to the surface world and i am trapped in the nether. I tried to kill myself and when i did a spawned on the surface world and walked around for about a minute and it just froze and crashed again I even tried on multiplayer and everything it just wont stop freezing. Is there a way to fix my problem? 9th July 2012.

  • This is still happening as of January 4th, 2013. I didn't have the problem until just recently though, every time I went to and from the nether up until now has gone off without a hitch, even used to use the nether as a storage facility

[!!] nether portals worked fine UNTIL the update. Now I'm having the same issues as the first bugs listed. Ie. freezes, sometimes plays music, Xbox button makes sound but no menu pops up, hard to reset.

  • Same problem happened to me after the latest update. Solved by creating a new portal the other side of the world, travel to the Nether (which spawns a new portal), travel to the old portal, destroy and rebuild 1 block away-- MattyB

[!] Saving in the Nether, exiting the game without saving, and reloading the previous save game will cause the player to be stuck above the bedrock in the Nether. No blocks can be placed, and the player cannot jump off the edge of the map, so there is no way to get back. May be an online only glitch.

[!] When entering and saving in the nether, exiting without saving, reloading the saved game, the player will not be able to leave the nether or the game will crash. (This problem can be fixed with a friend, and give your stuff to the friend, and then die, respawn, have your friend come out of the nether, and get your items back. Has been tested and it works.)

[X] When deflecting a Ghast's fireballs with your fists, many times the ball would just stop; glitching back and forth.

  • me too even if I use a portal in a online game [not my world] it crashes in fact it's the only way I have ever seen a XBOX360 crash.


[A!] When playing splitscreen and one person enters the nether, the whole overworld goes slightly darker for the other players. Though this does fix itself after you leave. Unknown if this will affect mob swawning or not, but it's unlikley.

[A!] Even though it says that in the update that came out today (June 15) says that the game crashing when entering the Nether, it still crashes for me when leaving the Nether, but works when entering it. Is this just me, or is this happening to everyone?

  • Not happening to me. Before the update i tried making sure the game was offline and singleplayer only and that worked. Try that.

[A!] Getting near a portal causes the portal noises to be VERY loud.

[A!] After moving my Nether Portal twice, random portals keep spawning everywhere in my world.

  • I've solved this by clearing the cache (deletes the newest update), then I'm able to go to the normal work. You install de update after this and ready (I recommend not going to the nether again tho, or save before entering). poohrt

[A] When entering a Nether Portal there is a chance there will be multiple end points when you enter the Nether. For example, you have one Nether Portal in the normal world. When you enter it with other people you may spawn into different portals.

  • This isn't a bug, its simply how the portals work, they have to be something like 1200-1600 blocks apart in the main world, and about 200-300 blocks in the nether to be different portals
  • This IS a bug, it's NOT how portals work, and if it WERE how they worked then it would preclude the use of more than 1 portal in an XBOX MC game, because there would not be enough space in the entire map to put between two. So long as they are properly synched to their counterparts, you can have portals only a few squares away from each other that work properly. A party of people entering the same portal, yet exiting from different portals is definitely a glitch.
  • the 1200-1600 block size is obviously reduced for the 360 edition, just like the nether is 3 blocks per overworld block instead of 8, like in the PC edition.

[!!] The tutorial level will sometimes crash the Xbox whilst it is generating the world.-EpicRancorCptnFridge.

[!] I have a 1.6 world that had the chest crashing errors in the 1.8 update. I figured out that you can copy a world by having it on 2 different storage devices and renaming 1, followed by saving again on the 1 you didn't rename. I use this to archive my worlds, and one time I tried to rename the cloud save and got an error message. I retried it, and then the hard drive & cloud save were deleted. I found out Microsoft's cloud saves were having issues and when the servers went back up, the save finished, overwriting one of my old worlds. I didn't care about that world, and my main world (the one with the problem) inherited the old world's name (which was an old copy of it if that had something to do with it). I renamed it once, but now if I do it again to archive it (which if helpful because if something like this happens again, and the save doesn't complete after the servers go back up I can still have my world), I get the same message, even though the servers are fine again. The world will also get deleted again, but only on that storage device I renamed it on (perhaps because I aborted the renaming instead of trying again like last time). I don't need to archive or rename it, but with the stakes this high (possibility of world being erased), this needs to be patched. Current version is PC equivalent of 1.0 -Vince

[!!] I transferred a save to cloud storage to play at a friend's house. We played the game off of cloud storage there, and then I went back home and copyed the Save file from cloud storage overwriting the save I already had. So now I had 2, one from the Cloud and one from HD, at the menu, I load world however nothing happens, it shows the background, then the settings for the world pop back up. July 8, 2012

I have experienced the same issue with adding and removing a game from cloud storage. This is a major issue as it causes a complete lockout from that world. Changing ownership using Horizon does not work to fix this issue. September 3, 2012

[!] World generation is 75 to 90 percent water. I've checked about 10 different seeds and I can guess its because of the mushroom biome generation. There is always water around them and one world I was in for awhile ended up generating chunks of just water down to bedrock and cut right into underground tunnels. The water from the ocean did not flow into the tunnel just acted as if there was a wall. December 19, 2012

[X] The way NPC Villages are spawned often results in more NPC Villages than normal 1.8 maps on the PC version. This often leads to having villages consisting of just a well and a bit of gravel around it.-EpicRancorCptnFridge.

Edit: I misplaced this as a critical bug that crashes the game. It does not crash the game but the generation of the map has a lot of lag. December 21, 2012

[?] I have a world that was generated before the first update, and post-update, "nightmares" can still occur on this world if I set beds against the wall or leave the bedroom door open. (Even though the entire house is sealed up, well lit, and the bed is no longer set against the wall.) I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it was known that this would happen to pre-generated worlds because I can walk through sugarcane now. --Doug

[X] There is no cactus in my world. There also doesn't seem to be any desert biome in it also. --8ghy6

  • Not a bug. Xbox worlds have limited size, and only so many biomes can spawn.

[!] I had 2 worlds with the same seed (one in creative, one for survival). They both had the name "New World", when I changed the name of the one for creative, an error occurred that deleted the survival save. The message was something like "Your storage device has either failed or an error has occurred." When I reloaded the game from my hard drive, the Survival save was gone. 18 October 2012

It worked fine for a few days and then one day we logged in and the game data had reverted to the orginal verison released for xbox. We thought this had happened because we had had cleared the systeme cache so we connected to the internet and redownloaded the update. Again it worked for a few days and has again reverted to the orginal verison. This is Very annoying and also causes the xbox to freeze and have to be restarted. [A] Worlds cant be shared between profiles, i.e. you can't change the owner.

  • You can change the owner, but you will need to mod by using a usb. Look up tutorial on changing save games.
  • Very annoying indeed when you have two players in the same household on the same console trying to continue playing the same world even when one is not around. -- 12:59, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
  • If you have USB Flashdrive and download a program called Horizon you can change the owner of a save.
  • While it is true that putting the world on a USB drive, then putting it on a computer and using some software to change the owner is possible, it is not a very direct or easy way, and Microsoft frowns on using third-party software to make changes to saves. The saves should be flagged as transferable. --Mr Nukealizer
  • if you share the same console then an easy fix is to just use the host's profile to play the map..
  • The above "solution" is inefficient because then the second player either doesn't have access to their items OR is forced to play on splitscreen. I encountered this issue when playing at my boyfriend's house, and his TV is about 24" diagonally. Not fun. Rubychan 17:00, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

[A] There doesn't seem to be any sugarcane in the tutorial level. This is very annoying to me because I lost my map at some point or another.

[A] The seed shown since the update Friday, July 13, 2012 is not the text entry ("minecraft" for example). The seed that is shown is composed only of numbers ("695073197" for example), but it is possible to use letters when creating a world with a seed chosen by the player (including myself). The value "seed" entered by the user should be displayed (and it is therefore necessary to save this passphrase = "minecraft") in addition to the seed "695073197" in the standard format, especially if both are valid data to recreate the same world. The two "codes seeds" are interchangeable ? The code input by the user, "minecraft" and the code currently displayed, "695073197" ? [X] Sometimes when u put a music disc in a jukebox it wont play even though the disc is in it.

[X] <materials bug> --jtwindizzleJtwindizzle 02:18, 28 August 2012 (UTC) When I play multiplayer splitscreen, an occasional bug occurs where I will try to craft something and the crafting layout informs me that I do not have the items needed to craft it. I then backed out of the crafting grid and tried it again and it worked although, the bug still appears to happen each time I try to craft.

Same here, I first noticed it when playing split-screen with a friend. I just backed out of the crafting interface, and re-opened it, and while it still told me I had insufficient materials, it could craft it anyway. I just try to ignore it. 03:09, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

[A!] I have a great world but now when I try to load it doesn't show the loading bar, it says 'A' Select 'B' Cancel and it shows the tutorial world (Spinning Camera). Pressing A does nothing, pressing B brings me back to the Difficulty Selection Screen for the world. I've tried waiting and it still doesn't work! Jeremy Russell

[A!] On some worlds,Nether Fortresses will not spawn.This is anyoing as heck because Nether Forts=Blazes=Blaze Rods=BREWING!Even if you find a fort yourself,they are vacant besides wandering Pigmen.Not even the Blaze Spawners are there!You can only see Blazes on Creative on Easy or higher,that is if you find the structures they spawn in-Dec 22,2012.Signed,Theqoree Z.

  • Whilst attempting to create a new world in which the Nether featured a Nether Fortress, around half of the Nether's included a Fortress, around a third of these Fortresses included a Blaze Spawner or a Nether Wart garden (more often a Blaze Spawner), and only one included both. Both are necessary for brewing potions (except for 'Potion of Weakness' which does not require Nether Wart). --Codpoke 17:54, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
  • really? i have the same problem. except one time i was messing around in creative and i found a nether fortress. plus it had a blaze spawner and some blazes, but no nether wart. i hope this gets fixed soon 'cause i don't like to have to give myself blaze rods and nether wart in every world. i will keep investigating.18:49, 11 January 2013 (UTC)lolzzzzz
  • I've found the new worstseedever!It's called 0123456789.It includes both a Nether Fortress,Nether Wart and 2 Blaze Spawners directly across from each other.Hope this helps!:^).Theqoree Z.
