Bei der Benutzung einer Leuchtbeere auf der Unterseite eines Blocks wird eine Höhlenranke platziert, die einen Block auf einmal nach unten wächst, solange daneben [[Luft]] ist und die Maximalhöhe von zwischen 2 und 26 Blöcken (inklusiv) noch nicht erreicht ist. Jede neu gewachsene Höhlenranke hat eine Chance von 1 zu 9, Leuchtbeeren zu tragen.

Wenn man [[Knochenmehl]] auf einer Höhlenranke anwendet, die nicht schon Leuchtbeeren trägt, werden diese produziert.

Höhlenranken können als Dekoration verwendet werden. Man muss dabei beachten, dass sie nach unten wachsen, solang sie nicht behindert werden oder ihre maximale Länge noch nicht erreicht wurde. Will man dies verhindern, kann man mit einer [[Schere]] einen (standardmäßig) Rechtsklick auf die Ranke machen.

Schnüffler-Eier können auf einen Block platziert werden und schlüpfen langsam zu [[Schnüffler]]jungen. Platziert man sie auf einen [[Moosblock]], so schlüpfen sie schneller.

Schnüffler-Eier benötigen keinen Stützblock darunter und werden im Gegensatz zu [[Drachenei]]ern nicht von der Schwerkraft beeinflusst.

Schnüffler-Eier reißen mit der Zeit auf und schlüpfen nach zweimaligem Aufbrechen. Sie schlüpfen schneller, wenn sie auf [[Moosblock|Moosblöcken]] liegen. Schnüffler-Eier schlüpfen in etwa 10 Minuten, wenn sie auf Moosblöcken liegen, während es doppelt so lange dauert, bis sie schlüpfen, wenn sie auf Nicht-Moosblöcken liegen.

Schnüffler-Eier schlüpfen nicht, wenn sich der Spieler nicht innerhalb von 128 Blöcken in horizontaler Entfernung zum Ei befindet. Das liegt daran, dass das Ei keine zufälligen Ticks erhält.
